Advice needed with JD 2240 rear rim replacement

Some times they will pop loose just by striking the rim straight down next to the wedge a few times. Start at the bottom and put the nuts back on like RickB suggested to keep em from flying across the shop. Tractor wedges are cut to where they usually dont fly out like truck wedges do but they can.

Mini excavator thumb - relief valve question

For what its worth, my ec140el was fitted new at the dealer with hyd thumb and no relief valves. I asked two techs about it, both said it didnt need them as the system recyles pressurized oil. I dont like the idea of no relief valves but I watch my guys often over power the thumb with the bucket...

    Whats It For?

I’m not saying what it is but it sounds like it will be a tower or billboard of some sort if its not just a junction box base. We build a base pad for billboards or towers every now and then. Most all of them only want an access road and a pad thick enough to support the cranes and cement...

Diesel IH 464 throwing watery oil out overflow.

Ok not milky but thin and seems to be making more. Does it smell like diesel? Fuel lift (primer pumps) are bad about leaking fuel into crankcase as the diaphram ages. Since its not a milky emergency, buy an oil scan kit and see what is in it before you start changing parts.

    Trouble pumping moly grease.

You might want to consult your owners manual as far as moly grease and ball/rolller/needle bearings are concerned. That being said it is a pain in the ass keeping up with two different types of greases and I really don’t think my employees keep them separate at all but I try to keep the moly...

Trying to remove 50 inch oak tree stump with Bobcat backhoe. Struggling

If that stump is anywhere close to 50 inches, you are not going to get it out even if you ever move it. Also the root depth depends on the tree and the soil. Just got my first tractor. Tips for mowing steep slopes?

Look in you owners manual about wheel width spacing. There are numerous width’s you can set to by simply moving wheels around to take advantage of the offsets of mounting hardware on rims and the dish offset of the centers. The wider the better up to a point. I wouldnt want it wider than my cutter.

If thats a current pic, your tracks are too tight already. As stated above, look under that cover or right around the area behind the yokes to the front idler. That shaft you see behind the idler is the “can” of the cylinder. Some models are found there. You want 2-3 inches of sag. Too tight...
