    John Deere 390 Flail mower

Well I did a job with it today and thought it cut pretty good, did 10 acres and it has already paid for itself, I'm sure as I learn more about setting it up and experimenting a little I can fine tune it, looking at it this afternoon it looks like to me these l shaped blades can be flipped to...

Pastora will work but Impose will work better at about 8-10 ounces per acre, 2,4,D at 1 quart to the acre will take care of the dog fennels, the Impose and 2,4,D can be mixed together to cover everything with one trip.

Tractor or skid steer? Just bought 150 acres.

Probably a little late to the thread but here is another opinion , I have a 112 acre farm and currently have 2 tractors and 1 tracked skid steer that I use for my business, if I had to pick one it would be a cabbed 85-100 hp tractor and I would be saving for a 4x4 backhoe. How many acres can I mow per hour?

Okay, you could mow in a circle if you wanted to nothing about the mowing chart says you have to mow in a straight line and there is some compensation in the chart for overlap and other things, it's just a general guide to give someone an idea of how much ground they are covering per hour.

How many acres can I mow per hour?

Yeah, I don't know that it takes in account for trees , brush piles, rocks, trash piles, etc, I think it's probably just giving an idea that with a certain width mower and you holding a set MPH mowing grass and weeds that you can expect to get X number of acres mowed per hour, I have checked...

  65. L

How many acres can I mow per hour?

Well sorry my chart didn't figure on you and your neighbor šŸ˜„ but if that's the case you should be covering close to 6 acres an hour, that's getting after it for a 6' cutter, them have to be some really smooth fields.

Pictures from a skid steer mowing contractor

Not around where I live, we have good black row crop farm dirt, but where I did this job at on the far side of the county it absolutely is, there has probably been more fill dirt dug from over there than anywhere local, it's known as Archer fill and it's tough on pins, bearings etc.

Stump removal .. how deep? Or all?

Are the stumps still green or have they been cut long ago and dead? If still green I would take a chainsaw and cut a thin layer off the top and immeadiately take straight glyophosphate/roundup and put it all the way around the cambium layer/bark which will ensure that the stump won't sprout...
