Just a heads up…..you should use a flexible electrical “carlon” conduit to hook into generator. Just like the flexible gas pipe. It will help prevent damage from vibration.

Update: The 3X replacements from AMZN were also manufactured in 2023 (e.g. weeks 19 and 23 of 2023). I do not remember the DOM for the third. However, while the UPS driver was attempting delivery, he let me check the codes and refuse delivery. So everything returned to Amazon.

Just ordered a staggered set 225/45R17 and 245/40R17 from Sams. Same tires that are on the car presently.
New tires installed. Front's with date code 1525 and rears with codes 1725 and 1925. Sam's did a great job.

I got my Goodyear Wranglers from Walmart after searching Amazon. They had them in stock at the closest store to me (10 miles away). When I checked the date code, they were within a couple of months of coming out of the mold. I haven't mounted them on my new wheels yet--Waiting on a tire lift aid for my balancer. I'm old and getting weaker. I already have a lift aid for the tire changer machine. The new tires are 275/60 R20 will be on new rims and heavy.

To stay on topic, this is what I ordered. It's air powered.

Speaking of buying batteries……

Last week, I had to replace the battery in my excavator. The battery sits in a “bucket” down below the hood. It is only accessible from the small compartment lid at the top of the hood.
Raising the hood does not allow access to the battery.
Anyways, I could not remove the ancient old battery. I have no idea how it was put in there. The battery width was bigger than the opening by about 1/4”.

Add to that, the battery is big and you have to stand on the plastic hood to pull it straight out. Was afraid my big ass and the battery weight would crack the huge hood.

I ended up having to take a mini grinder to the opening and grind it down about 1/4” to slide the battery upward through the opening.

While removing the old battery, the nut that holds the battery down was one of those cheap “stay nuts” and it rusted off. Fell into the “abyss”. So I had to use a nut & bolt. Had to use locking vice grips on nut and socket wrench with extender while somehow keeping the plastic battery retaining wedge from falling off…. sheesh.

Also, of course it takes a $199 battery, not a cheaper one.

You can see where I ground down the edge of the compartment. I covered the edge in yellow duck tape because it was sharp and now prone to rust.

Ridiculous access.

The new battery is exact same size as old battery. I went with an Ever Start from Wal Mart. I hope its a good one because I don’t want to change that battery again. Even with edge ground down, its barely drops in, scratching the side of the battery.

Other than that, the new battery went just fine!

Two years ago we bought a new Kia Rio. It has 9K miles on it and since new it's had a "dead spot" in acceleration if you're driving any speed, hit brakes then nail it, it hesitates then goes. It can be dangerous pulling out somewhere and a car/truck appears.
JMS makes a module that you unplug throttle position sensor from pedal, plug this between and it has a 0-100% knob. It changes speed at which throttle body opens in relation to pedal, overriding computer.
So I ordered one from Summit Racing which arrived yesterday afternoon. Couldn't wait to install it. The TPS plug was a beech so I removed pedal. My luck, the plugs don't match. What's weird is I contacted Summit and they said it's a 2024 not '23. VIN shows made in 12/23. I said your & JMS ad shows it fits a '24 although:
"Final Model Year: The 2023 model year marked the end of the Kia Rio in the US."
Very weird. Anyway I'm returning it.
The whole time I'm working on it I had the battery disconnected. I reconnected and test drove it and it no longer hesitates!🫠
I hope it's permanent and somehow it reset the computer with battery disconnected.

How the heck did the original battery fit in there?

The traditional change over for model years is August, so a 12/23 date would normally be a 2024. I say normally because that is far from set in stone.
