Great advice. After being burned trying to help others, if I can't give them the money they want or need, I don't do it at all. No loans ever. Loans have "strings" that are problematic even in the best circumstances if a loan is repaid. A path I no longer want to go down.
Even giving money can trigger issues, but not as often. I once gave a family member $20k to get them over the hump of a difficult problem. Years later, totally out of left field, they visited and surprisingly handed me $20k repayment. I said it was not necessary- it was a gift, always a gift, and we all knew that. They said: "ya but ever since then you have acted different toward us." Their minds and impressions were "colored" to see something that wasn't there. I said "thank you" because it would have been rude to refuse what they had surprised me with.
Sometimes things can be done quicker, but I’m guessing there’s a reason for it to take time, they are redoing a road by us that I’m guessing wasn’t the correct soil because they dug about 8 feet down and I’ve been adding new soil and packing it constantly to build it right back up to where it was, but I’m guessing the road will last longerLong construction times for simple projects, when its a gov. project.

Why can't it be done in a month?

I get several calls a day asking questions if legitimate and not phishing, what happens if ignored, why are you doing this to me, etc.Had an appointment with my GP doctor yesterday, so last week I get a text from someone who sends documents to be filled out prior to your appointment. I HATE THOSE DAMN THINGS. But I tried to fill it out and finally got so frustrated, wasted half an hour trying to get it to accept all my answers, cancelled it and deleted the message.
When it got to the doc's office I had to fill out a couple of pages, which took me all of 30 seconds.
Yep, those apps sure do make things easy and speed things up.
Oh, one of the fields said, Language, if not English, so I left it blank. Nope, had to type in English to get past that page. Whoever coded that page needs a good swift kick in the behind.
My nieces all used my trailer for homecoming in High School to make class floats…A good friend generously donated use of his trailer, many times, to help a local non-profit. But he grew tired of that.
He politely notified the non-profit his trailer would not be available any more. They responded: "Boy, that's going to put us in a real bind."
Not quite the "thank you" he was expecting ...
