Shell Rotella HD for Kioti DK6010SE?

I've been using the Rotella T6 for my engine oil in my Kioti DK6010HSE. I'm at my 400hrs and need to replace all the hydraulic fluid now. The manual recommends the following

Daedong: UTF55 or equivalent fluid oil
Equivalent options include:
Shell: Donax-TD
ExxonMobil: Mobilfluid 424 or Exxon Hydraul 560
BP: Tractran UTH

Would the Shell Rotella HD be a viable replacement for these?

I wouldnt think so, as the rotella is an engine oil. Im not positive, but i would assume as an engine oil its going to have different additives from a true hydraulic oil. Also viscosity issues. Ive been using Donax myself for hydraulic oils.

But im no expert. I guess you could ask your dealership mechanic?


I did find this advertisement from rotella, which seems to say it may work just fine. But i always followed the mfg required fluids while mine was under warranty, than just kept using it after warranty.

The Rotella HD is hydraulic fluid. It was previously called Donax TD. That alone mostly answers my question since that is the name the manual references. I just wasn't sure if it just a rebrand or if something has changed with the formulation.

Donax-TD is still sold, i just purchased 10 gallons of it.

Edit… i goofed up, its now called spirax s4

I have two Kubotas both gear drive and live in northern VT with a cold climate and use both tractors all winter. The L3010 I bought new in 2001 and use Rotella HD in it. The M5640 I bought used in 2017 and also use Rotella HD in it. Again they are gear drive not hydrostatic. No problems for me using Rotella HD in the transmission/hydraulic systems.
