Kubota L4310 gear teeth in hydraulic filter?

To me, that looks more like splines rather than gear teeth. Looking at how the material looks and broke, makes me think it's cast iron.

At first, I was thinking diff lock, but checking the parts catalog and some pictures of the actual parts and it doesn't even have splines there.
I've got a 3130 all the splines sheared off . Replaced under warranty...... known problem some shafts weren't hardened they said. Same vintage.

Those are very small teeth. Too small for pump teeth. They almost look like flywheel teeth but I don't know how they'd get into the trans oil. The gear they come off of would be fairly small but large in diameter. It's almost like someone may have placed them there on purpose. :poop:

I figured it was splines. The shape, profile and machining marks gave it away.

What did this issue affect function wise on your tractor?

Finally nothing won't move. Shaft was just spinning.

Possibly left over debris from a previous repair? Can you tell if the tractor was ever split?
