I my 3000 with 13.6x 28s are loaded with 55 gallons each. I have had them off for brake work and changing spacing (by swapping from one side to the other) alone. No problems. Just keep them vertical with a few degrees tilt toward whatever you prop them against so they won't fall back on you.
