    Best grapple for a cutover?

I don't think I have any quite that big. Seems like they cleaned it up half way decent. Should look good in about 5-6 years when the pines start to take off.

    Best grapple for a cutover?

Most of it seems to be pretty clean to me. Here's a couple piles around the land. That was my thinking as well about cutting between the rows. I do like how it gives the deer cover, but think think the land would look a lot better if I cut between the rows.

    Best grapple for a cutover?

There’s a few large piles, but most aren’t that big. I just figure cutting the sage and brush will make the land look better. The grapple would help pick up a lot of the stray logs. I’ve got a 4540 Mahindra that should do the job. Just have to figure out how much I want to clean it up.

    Best grapple for a cutover?

I’m not sure how they planted them (I’m a city slicker 😁). We are buying the land from a timber company and they stated the Loblolly Pines were planted in Jan 2020. As far as we know, they planted all 48 acres like this. I figured it would look good if I could cut down all the sage and other...

Thank you for the advice! I will look at getting rid of the bigger logs left and maybe let the rest rot.

    Best grapple for a cutover?

That's one reason I want to keep some of the debris out there. I want to keep the deer coming in.

    Best grapple for a cutover?

I haven't walked mine entirely, but it does seem like they done a pretty good job cleaning up afterwards. I figure I have years to clean it up the way I want it.

    Best grapple for a cutover?

Well....that kind of makes me think a little differently about this :) . What would you advice to do with all the slash piles? I'm guessing there is probably 20 of them spred through the property. i want to clean the land up some, but also want to keep the deer coming in ,and try and not damage...

    Best grapple for a cutover?

Instead of burning all the piles where they were left when they cut the land, I decided to find one spot and burn it all there. Which grapple (Root or Rake/Clamshell) would work best to pick up the left over timber? I haven't walked the entire land (48 acres), but doesn't seem like there is a...

    Clear Cut Land

Great questions. They are loblolly pines were just planted in Jan 2021. The main purpose was just to basically make it look "pretty". Although, I actually had the same thought you mentioned earlier today. When it comes to wildlife, If I do cut down a lot of that sage and brush, the deer may not...

    Clear Cut Land

Not bad...I think it would be very feasible for my land to be cleaned up within that time frame.
