My 4200 has an intermittent start situation that has become unbearable. I don't here the loud snap of the shut off solenoid. I dug out the thermistor, jumped it, still don't hear the snap of the shut off solenoid. I'm assuming the problem is with the solenoid. Does this sound correct? thanx...

My 4200 started fine the other day after sitting for a week. I ran it a couple of hours plowing snow, shut it down for lunch. Went out, no start. I figured water must have been stirred up in the tank and settled somewhere. I put the heat gun to the fuel pump, fuel filter assy. etc., drained...

Been on the fence about getting a posthole digger. Don't really need one but they do come in handy on occasion. Found one at auction, the price was too good to pass up. Just curious on what brand it is....any ideas? Thanx John

I sold my mower and all the attaching hardware. I'm unable to get the quick connects for the lift cylinder unhooked. See attached pic. The tractors been sitting for over a week, I moved the control valve both ways and re-centered it and finally loosened the hoses.....they still won't budge...

This vulture's been hanging around for a few days now. I called a raptor rehabilitator but they said if I want to help it I have to catch it. Looks like it has a badly busted wing. Had some bologna that I threw out for it. Probably hasn't eaten in days.

When I built my forks I realized I should have built in more curl when they're all the way down. After an embarrassing mishap that I won't go into I decided I'd better modify the forks. I bumped the bottom out three inches. They work much better now. M.D.

Has anyone heard of or used Mesa brand tires. There's a dealer not too far away that will sell's them for $90. The seem to have decent tread and are load range E. Someone told me they're made by Cooper. Anyone have any experience with them? Thanx M.D.

I've had the #72 mower that came with my JD 4200 for sale, no takers. Then I got to thinking how hard would it be to convert it to a 3pt mower? Has anyone done this conversion? M.D.

Got the rebuild kits for my JD 420 loader. Took off one of the cylinders, removed the outer snap ring. Now what's holding the cylinder end in? I can rotate it but it won't come out. Thanx M.D.

The 420 loader on my JD 4200 started dropping a little as it it has air in the lines. It will drop about six inches then stop. This started suddenly this week. I changed the fluid, filter & cleaned suction screen last fall. I switched the lines around so the curl circuit raises and lowers...

Had to have new drain fields installed. What used to be nice thick grass is now rocky subsoil. I graded and hauled off eight buckets of stone. Ran the disk over it this evening and dug up many more rocks. I'm going to rent a York rake tomorrow and try to get it seeded.
