    MX5800 rotary cutter opinions

Trust me I use it well for hogging, even tho it looks like I only need a mower in this pic. It's the only pic I had of the 6' cutter

    MX5800 rotary cutter opinions

I been running a six foot land pride with my mx5200 for 6 years. Match made in mechanical heaven imo. Thing is perfectly sized.

Nice pics. It really emphasizes your post to see what you're talking about.

Front mounted brush cutter with open cab

My helmet has a face shield that is pretty stout.

Front mounted brush cutter with open cab

Our property is covered up with t posts and fence posts and barbed wire that is hidden from years of overgrowth. That is something to think about.

Am I crazy for thinking I'll be fine wearing a motorcycle helmet while using this on the front of my mx 5200? We have the 6' wide version and a pto hydraulic pump and typically I use it with a cab tractor... But motorcycle helmet and maybe a heavy chest rig set up and I feel like this would be...

    Solid bottom grapples

I don't take offense, but I've used both and the clamshell is far superior for grapple functions imo. The other type excels in lifting tasks like forks. I have forks, so I don't see the need for that type of grapple.

    Solid bottom grapples

This is how you rake brush towards you and then roll the stationary part of the grapple forward to trap brush and logs. I can pick up big logs too.

    Solid bottom grapples

A clamshell style is superior for brush movement imo. That's what I have. I don't see utility in the other style of grapple. In fact, my fil and my uncle both liked my grapple so much, that they both bought the other style like you show, but neither of them use it. My grapple still sees use...

Kubota L4479 vs L4474 (front utility vs front commercial snow blower)

Electric are not more reliable than hydraulic. Cheaper, sure.

    Cost of steel?

My locale has that for about $500. I purchased the 3/16" for ~$250.

Help me pick a tractor (25-45 HP)

What thread are you reading? Properties: - 20 acres where I live (flat and ~90% wooded) - 120 acres "up north" (Flat to rolling but there are ravines ~97% wooded)

Tractor or skid steer? Just bought 150 acres.

It don't deal with rocky soil. I can't believe I have to actually say that. Not to mention there are so many vines it would entangle a tiller in minutes. A tiller wouldn't last a half hour making roads around here. A harrow does great. Less to mess up too when rocks are encountered.

A tiller? Talk about a bad plan. Using a harrow and then a bb is how it should be done. I wouldn't dream of attempting that with a tiller.

I came here to echo what I've already seen. Your plan is no plan. It is a failure of thought. None of your first post will work like you describe. This is not a situation you can afford to be in right now. Come up with a more realistic plan.
