How hard is it to learn to use a rental mini-excavator?

Good post. Even with 150 hours in the seat I’m still not great at finish grading with my grading bucket (no teeth.)

2 post or 4 post vehicle lift ideas

I have an Atlas 2 post (10,500 pounds) and have never regretted my purchase. I used it to highly modify my Rubicon, work on my truck, a buddy’s truck, etc. i have a series of YouTube videos of the install on my channel - JohnHillCountry.

How hard is it to learn to use a rental mini-excavator?

Let me say right off the top that I'm a fan of grinding stumps depending on their location. The problem is after several months you are left with a depression where the stump was ground into little bits. If it's in a field that's no big deal, but in turf/lawn - big deal (for me anyway.)

Dirt Moving ANT CHINESE EXCAVATOR Information needed

Google has a Translate phone/tablet app that uses the camera - just frame the camera image on the Chinese text and it will be converted to English. There's literally dozens and dozens of languages it will translate. Back to servicing the little hoe - there should be a zerk fitting on every...

Dirt Moving ANT CHINESE EXCAVATOR Information needed

That plate on the side of the tracks probably covers the grease fitting for tensioning the tracks, add grease to tighten the track, loosen the fitting to relieve tension.. The drive motor probably has a fitting to examine the oil level. Other than that you will just have to poke around. As far...

How hard is it to learn to use a rental mini-excavator?

I own a Bobcat E42 cab mini-ex, it weighs about 10,000 pounds ready to work. Bought it new in 2019 for our ranch and never previously operated an excavator. I have over 800 hours operating a small Kubota (30 hp) and my Deere 4720 (66 hp) so lots of tractor seat time. As far as the learning...

    JD Zero Turn Reviews

I have a commercial Z945M Deere ZTR, it has Kohler fuel injection (no carbs for me thank you), 60" deck, Tweels, and flat proof caster tires. It's about three years old with 100 hours on the clock, it's been super dry in the Texas Hill Country so not a whole bunch of mowing called for. It's...

MF 1835M loader support collapsed on tractor

Referring to the uTube channel IC Weld.... He is indeed an amazing craftsman and yes, in most cases the repair involves new steel, gussets, backer plates, etc. It was interesting to find out the large excavators usually had a failure on the boom. Most likely the heavy equipment he repairs have...

MF 1835M loader support collapsed on tractor

There's a very interesting YouTube channel called IC Weld, this guy (and now his son) repair heavy equipment steel that has broken/cracked/wallered out. He works on anything from a mini-ex to a 50 ton excavator to a dozer, etc. etc. A common response here seems to be something along the lines...

    Spreader  Pull behind spreader recommendations?

I've been scouring the internet looking at pull spreaders and there a bunch of them in the $250-500 range. I wanted a commercial quality spreader and thought I found one at ABI attachments but I'm not sure. Their current production model doesn't look nearly as good as the one in their latest...

Ag-Pro Texas - 8 weeks and tractor is still there waiting on repairs!

My 4720 cab John Deere has a slipping PTO - every time I tried to mow in not so tall grass/weeds it would start slipping and the MX6 3 point mower would come to a halt. Worked great last year. There are several other minor repairs I wanted to get done so the plan was to get everything done at...

My grapple fittings leaked a little when I first used my WR Long grapple. They just needed a little tightening so nothing unusual there.

I have a box blade and a rear blade and I'm thinking a land plane would be a bunch faster (and easier) for grooming my ~1/4 mile of roads. Welcome aboard!
