I just put a mechanical thumb on my TYM BY85 (equivalent to Branson BH150) backhoe - but I can’t find specs for a working weight limit on the setup. Does it hurt anything to just keep wrestling with rocks, roots and stumps until I overcome the hydraulics, then back off and try try again?

I am still learning categories, tbh. I know the 3P rating is 3,000# - 4,000# and the tractor is 55HP. Does that help?

I can’t find these same pin sizes to save my life! BY300-240001 - 25mm dia X 90mm long (~1” x 3-1/2”) BY400-440000 - 20mm dia X 215mm long (~3/4” x 8-1/2”) There seems to be every size in these diameters except what I need. Dealer came back with $126. 😮 Without a press, I have this redneck...

Has anyone installed flow restrictors on this model backhoe to slow the boom down? I’m trying to figure out if it matters where in the flow path I install them and what fitting types (JIC?) I need to source.

This could have happened during shipment. I didn’t force any hydraulics too harshly when pulling them, but I do admit I was a first-time operator when removing them… figured it was me and they must just be really soft metal. Doesn’t appear to be any damage and machine works great. 🤷‍ I’ll see...
