My gramps who would be 112 if he was still around used to call our big Blue Heron that look very similar to yours Mud Cranes cause he said they were always in the mud around tide flats and ponds and lakes. I wonder if your sand cranes are really Blue Herons?

Geesh a skill saw and cutting 3/4 inch plate must have been tough. Looks like it worked though.

Looks like one of the old craftsman vises made by rock island. maybe a 3 inch or is it a 4 inch wide jaw?
3/8 or 1/2 inch plate? Looks plenty stout either way and looks like a great way to use your old vise on you awesome bench.
Even if you don’t make that lift table a welding bench it would sure help load and unload heavy items out of your truck when you don’t want to use a fork lift or your back. Nice find!!
