    Battery specs for PT-425

I just replaced mine in September. It’s a rare size and my local Interstate distributor only had one in stock. I couldn’t find a direct replacement at Batteries Plus or any parts store chains. Seems like I might have found one orderable at Lowe’s or Home Depot which was my backup plan...

Oil leak - older PT425 60” finishing mower

Quick update: I replaced the motor and all seems well now. The hardest part was removing the lovejoy fitting from the old motor shaft. Wouldn’t have been hard if i had a vise setup or proper tools. Thanks for the advice everyone.

Great advice guys! I will post how it goes. Hopefully it won’t take me too long to get around to it.

Oil leak - older PT425 60” finishing mower

The oil appeared to be originating from the hydraulic motor, so I went ahead and ordered the replacement. Haven’t decided whether to replace it myself or have it done. Is there any special priming/bleeding procedure or is it just plug and play?

Oil leak - older PT425 60” finishing mower

Here are some specs I found using your part number. Appears to be 1100 - 1600 RPM. I guess that depends on psi and flow rate… not very familiar with hyd motors. It looks like my motor is up to 5000 rpm. Your motor looks closer to the one on my brush cutter.

Oil leak - older PT425 60” finishing mower

No problem at all. I’m not exactly sure where it’s leaking. Just noticed it when I finished mowing last and was ready to call it quits. I’ll investigate it some more. Thanks, David

Oil leak - older PT425 60” finishing mower

Here are some pictures of the motor and nameplate. @Ink - unfortunately it doesn’t appear to be a match to your motors. Much smaller and higher rpm. Doing some research on the part number, I think I found the replacement motor on eBay here for about $285. Still not 100% sure the problem is...

Oil leak - older PT425 60” finishing mower

I still have less than 200 hrs on my PT425, but the finishing mower is one of my used attachments with unknown hours. I normally use another smaller mower to save hours on the PT, but the grass was very tall from all the rain. Anyway, there was a sizable oil leak at the deck’s hydraulic motor...

    48" Bradley stander mower

It’s so frustrating dealing with issues with a brand new high dollar machine. I had several issues with my Power-Trac PT-425 when it was new. Fortunately my service center experience for the Robin 25hp engine was much better.

    48" Bradley stander mower

That stinks about the engine. Let us know what they find. Did the mower do a good job of mulching?

    48" Bradley stander mower

Sounds like a great mower! I also noticed there doesn’t seem to be much available in the way of entry level standers. in addition to the two you mentioned, I also came accross the Encore Rage which I believe is similar price range and has impressive specs. Did you do any research on those?

    48" Bradley stander mower

Very nice! I’ve been thinking about a stander for my next mower. What made you decide on Bradley?

    Visit to Tazewell this week

I stopped by Power-Trac this week while I was in the area to pick up some hydraulic filters for my PT-425. A couple of things I learned: 1. Someone mentioned before on this forum that the Deutz 30hp has been discontinued for emissions reasons. Curious about the future of the PT-1430, I...

Hydraulic filter change, then engine issues. Coincident?

Well I thought I had all issues worked out with my 2016 PT425 and was getting ready for an updated post to sing its praises. But... Presently I'm in the middle of large trenching project for electrical conduit at newly purchased home. Ive opened up about 200 feet of trench in my yard and...
