It's so strange walking around my homeplace 15 miles from my place I bought 46 years ago.
The homeplace Grandfather bought in the late 30s as a kid we'd sit on his porch amazed watching a car go by. Now a 4 lane highway with non stop traffic. I'm selling it soon, financing 5 years.
My Grandmother was big into plants of all kinds. I couldn't believe this fragrant wisteria at least 50ft high. Their home still there but in disrepair. I remember the oak trees when they were small and when this spruce was planted.
I always liked the barn, in pencil upstairs is written built July 1942. Two houses & barn are cinder block.
That little spring house Dad moved close to our house. Nothing there was ever thrown away since Dad & Grandad lived through the Great Depression.
My Mother almost made it to 100.

Nice!

I go past my old neighborhood about once a week. I look at the trees my friend and I climbed, now too big to get your arms around. I watch how the current owners rip out things my mom planted, but they plant their own stuff and make their own memories. Nice to see them remodel the house to suit their wants and needs. Time marches on.

Ospreys (also known as sea hawks or fish eagles) I was able to get a pic this afternoon of a banded one. Pretty impressive bird.

I watched one hover for a good 5 minutes last week, finally diving to get a bluegill and took it off to the nest for the mate. Never used to have them around here 60s through 90s.
