Aftermarket keyed ignition switch?

Has anybody found an aftermarket ignition switch that plugs and plays? My tractor needs a third switch and I’m growing tired of poorly made OEM.

There are lots of universal ignition switches but not plug & play. You'd have to match the switch functions & operation then if it has screw terminals and original switch a plug you would cut an old switch plug leads then crimp & solder ring terminals for the new switch.
It could be done.

Anybody happen to know the specific size or type of the male ignition switch connector? Other wise, I will need to run into my local parts store and try to find one with the same male connector, or punch the wires out of the existing connector, and make it work with a new, aftermarket switch.

Two easy bits of information you need to know. The original switch had (I believe) five pins.
1) using a wiring diagram or simply continuity checking a good original switch make a simple diagram. Number switch connections.
So key off...continuity pin 1 to 3.
Key on...continuity pin 1, 2 and 4
Key start...continuity pin 1,2, 4 & 5.
(Of course, for illustration, but easy to do)
2) now you see pin 1 is red wire, pin 2 green, etc.

Now find a universal switch, local NAPA or auto parts store or if ordered a switch with same continuity each position, same as original. Universal switch will have solder terminals, screw lugs or 1/4" male posts.

Cut original wires close to switch, then solder to new switch, or screw lugs or 1/4" female jacks. Then simply plug in as original.

It's very easy you just need replacement switch same number of terminals and same continuity each position.

Just curious as to what issues you were having with each switch failure? I have gotten a very intermittent issue that acts as if you killed the ignition for a split second, tractor doesn’t completely die but stumbles and all the dash lights and gauges reset as they do when you first turn on the ignition.

Squirt some WD40 into it .
