the only problem with the front hole, alot of times thats too close for the tailgate......no one wants a smashed tailgate
Lighter versions are a bolt-on arrangement, like single-axle trailers only. How do you attach this to the trailer. Do you have to weld a small piece of pipe to the side of the frame and then this jack slips over it? Hard to tell from the pictures.
The jack that I linked to folds up, thereby minimizing the risk of bending it. Since the OP has welding capabilities, and needs a new jack anyway, why not upgrade?Well if I was gonna abandon that jack, I would just get an a frame jack and bolt it in the other hole.

Guess you've never witnessed what happens in body shops, let alone seen people create new flawless body panels from sheets of steel, or even aluminum.Once something has been bent like that, it's like putting toothpaste back in the tube. You might try all sorts of things, but never achieve a satisfactory result...
OK, stupid idea here but why not hook the trailer to your truck, take a floor jack and bend it back into place then weld? Won't be perfect but it'll do the job I'd think.I bent my trailer jack by driving over a stump and the bottom of the jack hit the stump and bent the jack bracket backwards. I have been able to grind out the welds on the ends of the bracket and clean them up but I don’t know how to bend the thick steel bracket back to its original position. You can see where the front edge of the bracket has separated about 1/2” from the bottom of the side rail. I have beat on it with a sledge hammer, tried to bend it with a lever, etc but I can move it. Anyone have any ideas how to bend this thick steel bracket back?
