Our grass is already starting to dry out at the tips. It doesn't bode well for the fire season. All this unusual weather here. No snow and only a trace of rain. One of these years we will pay for all of this with widespread wildfires.
Yikes !Coldest winter in 30 years here. +1F now at noon with a wind chill of -18F. Although making it nasty to be outside, the 24+ MPH sustained wind is actually doing me a favor. It's blown most of the 2 feet of accumulated snow off the roofs. Otherwise, I'd be faced with shoveling it off myself after the next storm.
You're killing me here!Yikes !
We are having another 60 degree day in the Rocky Mountains. Warm breeze. The creek is open & running. Pretty much normal weather forcast & outlook - that is it would be normal for late May; not or early Feb. .
I keep thinking I ought to be doing summer projects.
Looking out today is very odd with the Super Bowl venue off in the distance…You're killing me here!
I'll trade ya!![]()
I'm trying to get my summer projects done before the snow in summer falls!?Yikes !

AlGore’s globalwaming predictions are finally happening…I’ve in the desert for over 30 years. This year has been the strangest yet. We have had more rain than usual and temperatures are MUCH higher than normal for January. Last week we had several days in the 70’s and the next 10 days will be in the high 60’s. We normally would be 15 to 20 degrees lower. With the rain and heat, the desert is the greenest I’ve ever seen.
Many deciduous trees have not lost their leaves and I’m definitely concerned about fire season.
CRAZY!
We're only an hour or so from you, and pretty much the same thing here. Was kinda fun breaking trail across my property on the snowmobile after that 18" storm we had a couple weeks ago. Light & fluffy, had to keep speed up to avoid getting stuck which meant snow flying over the windshield and into face.Aside from a snow killing rain early on, it's been colder than the last 5 or so. Lots of 2-4" storms, plenty of 4-6" storms, and a few 6-14" storms. Had to start the snowblower since there was no more room to move it. My driveway is lined with banks that remind me of Buffalo NY after a few snow falls. 6-14' banks. Tried going snowshoeing for the first time, didn't even make it 1/4 mile. Snowshoes sunk almost 10" (really) into the fluffy snow we've gotten all year. Not in that kind of shape at the moment.
I've only been to your area twice, both to visit Coos brewing. New place is night and day better than the old place. We're only an hour or so from you, and pretty much the same thing here.
