We will be getting a tractor in the spring. (y) Looking at 4 series JD's.
Here is something to check carefully on any Deere 4 series. This seems to be a common and chronic problem.

Yesterday the neighbor teenager helped me get the runners on. The lower photo is the mini pintle to tow it with. We have these on all implements and are commonly used in XC grooming industry.

At camp yesterday to drag trails, check snow depth, leave cargo sled there and grab things we left there that we needed at home. We are heading back tonight and plan to bring new atv and leave it there..

That is your new ATV in first picture, correct? Looks like a lot of snow there for sure! 48"?

Arrived at camp at dusk in 10 degree weather. Lighly snowing and the moon and stars are out. What a time to be at camp  new 4x4 machine drives like a sports car, fast and nimble. Funny when you get used to a 6x6.

Got out last night without grief at dusk and the sled worked well and its cover was easy to use. Cargo system is a keeper. Will post photos when home. No moose tracks seen and we are sipping dark coffee now.

Got a lot of things done today.
Went for a short ski.
Rolled some light snow down heading back to the trailhead. First time the 850 ever towed anything.
Cleared some trail on our property and when we got through the bad section, Kept going while towing the cargo sled which compacted the snow between the tracks. (Sled was weighted some) I expected difficulty but she pulled through like a champ.

We are heading home later this afternoon after a ski. When home, need to add front weight peg to atv along with shovel mount points on rear of machine. Also a power supply for the drag control box. Why didn't l do that earlier?

How tough is it to steer that with the pods on it? Can your wife handle it?
Its quite easy, more so than our 6x6. She has been operating it some.

Does it have any form of power steering?

Of course. Many machines do today and I'd recommend having that for winter operations.
Thanks. I know side by sides with steering wheels do, but wasn't sure about single rider machines with handle bar steering.
