Kubota L5740
Hello, i'm in the process of buying a 5740, 2011.

New to tractors, but will need for the fence, pasture, hay, and land work in the future.

Here to lurk and learn what I can about everything. Went pre def to avoid the long term maint costs, 2011, 1300 hours. Good condition, has 3rd function and 2 rear remotes, R4. Tried to get a decent size for round bales, with some decent longterm reliability.

That's a nice pre emissions machine - I'm sure you'll be very happy with it.
It would be pre dpf though, not def on a machine of that size.

I have a 2007 L5740. Great machine. 100% trouble free the whole time I have owned it. The only problems have been totally self-inflicted, aka stuff I have broken.

I have a 2011 L5740 with about 2500 hours on it. It's been a good tractor. The main issue I've had is front wheel bearings. I've had to change them 4 times now. Here is a thread describing my bearing problems. Overall I think you will be happy with it.

Thanks all, i'm sure there will lots of little things to get down over time, but did a good bit of research to best of my abilities, and looking forward to the work to come.

Going for quick hitch, rim guard, auger 9/12in, pallet forks, bush hog, bale spear eventually. Only bout 4 acres to take care of, but need to rework the land a bit for pastures for 2 horses, do about 1500 ft of fencing along the front side, and inner parts, and then start on some light grading and irrigation work for a barn, which my neighbor got a box blade I could probably work somethin out.

Should keep me busy a good while to say the least.

Interesting. No problem with mine, but I probably just jinxed it. And I only have 1000hrs.
