AI -AugmentedInspection censorship, keys on certain words. In this case "gun". A PITA. Finally itll get programmed suitably for context assessment, I guess.

It's censorship. Complete bullsh*t. The Admin knows his membership base. He knows we are not extremist advocating or recruiting for unlawful activity. If the members here went some place else I would follow.

"Brand safe" for advertisers is a completely different standard that extremism or unlawful activity. The mere mention of a firearm in a thread about a dirt pile makes the entire thread "unsafe" and when ads are served in those threads, our site becomes "unsafe" and enough of that results in lost revenue.

Since it would take thousands of members paying for monthly membership and the reality is we would probably get a dozen, we are advertiser supported. Advertisers have the wacky rules, and we're unfortunately caught in the middle.

Well, maybe. At the same time, my post wasn’t altered or kicked out, it was just delayed. TBN has been a good place to be and keeping it “family friend;y” has had some growing pains attached.
N/M the add-on, they musta been reading my mind before I typed it out 😂

Thanks for explaining

Something a bit deeper than “temporary, working on it” would be a nice add-on though.

Mentions of actual firearms will continue to be put into a moderation queue as we are only going to allow those topics in the front porch forum and the good morning thread in rural living. If a thread about a shooting range comes up, it will need to be in the front porch as that forum has no ads in it and is not accessible publicly.

Mentions of things like grease gun or paint gun are false flags/safe phrases that we are going to try to build a logic system to exclude from the moderation queue.

I agree scootr but it's their forum, their rules and wasn't done with malicious intent, least I don't think it was ;) . Thanks for explanation Muhammad.
I do wonder tho what harm does the mention of g-u-n even of an actual g-u-n and other various words do. Not trying to raise :poop: just curious.

What a change. It used to ads followed the content . Now the content must fit the ads.

When big brands stopped working directly with us and started using automatic buying systems to find their target audiences all across the web, we became subject to the rules of the entrie process. Not to say that big tractor brands would be okay with their ads being beside firearm content but the context has been lost in the process. A gun rack on a tractor, for example.

.... so many uses for the word that don't infer a firearm. Gotta be complicated to train for accept/flag. I don't envy the task.

Thanks for keeping the lights on. (y)

I never thought of the word g-u-n being the trigger I thought it was nipple so I changed it to fitting LOL.
I do like my guns, but honestly... they can't hold a candle to my love of nipples. :p

<-- guaranteeing a double-hold on this post
