Morning started with phone call from D crying after helping older lady that fell at the condo building. She had met her and her dog a couple of days ago.
When she walked Zion she was circled by her small dog and leading her to where she fell at the entrance door. She was able to get the ambulance there to help her get back into the condo. Thankfully no injuries. She was going to drive to Maryland to her daughter for Christmas but the emergency people told her with her recent heart attack and health issue she should not do that. Glad that she was able to help

Merry Christmas Morning TBN and GM’ers !

38F with patchy dense fog here @ 08:00. Special Weather Statement issued for the fog.

Got 13.5” x 96” piece of foam board glued, put up on north wall, and braced first thing yesterday.

Then built the last section of the east stud wall, got that stood up, and nailed into the floor and ceiling joists.

Think it ended up being 40” long … so I had just enough 2 x 4’s to finish it.

Woman got all Her running around done while I was doing that. Headed over to neighbor lady’s after She got back and spent most of the evening there.

I knocked off early and spent the evening watching It’s A Wonderful Life. Woman came home towards the tail end of that.

After that we both watched His Holiness’ Midnight Mass at St. Peter’s … although She wasn’t able to make it all the way through and turned in before the Concluding Rites were delivered.

Plans for today are to help Woman get that turkey prepped and in the oven then head over to relatives for Christmas Dinner once it’s done.

Might do a little additional baking myself.

Well Merry Christmas to all,
I'm finally up and eating breakfast, long night couldn't get to sleep till after our early risers were up 3:30 this morning was the last time I saw. Till 45 minutes ago.
Lasagna was all preped yesterday and it's now sitting in the oven to warm a bit.
Then we got an inch of snow Tuesday with some rain on that so while the driveway is fine for use (I did scrape it) I'll put a load in the sander in a bit and sand the driveway for the non snow tired people, just to be safe.

11 now and going to 16°F. We got some snow overnight. Only an inch. Not worth plowing, just a waste of fuel.

The only green Christmas I remember was in Miami with my Grandparents back in the '50s.

It doesn't matter what condition the roads are in, Christmas is a bad time to be out and about. Between the people that are so self centered that they MUST be staring at their cell phones when they should be staring at the road and then there are the drunks... Stay safe and have a good Christmas.

We were going to stop by the Bastrop HEB on the way back from Galveston the Monday before Thanksgiving and there was no parking for miles around. We left.

Some of those 'new' HEB's have BBQ restaurants inside. The one's I've tried out were very good!

Like Spike mentioned, the Bastrop store is opening a BBQ addition....with parking already crowded.

I wish they'd build one in Giddings. There is 11 acre lot on hwy 290 next to the cemetery available.

My wife orders curbside from an HEB in College Station and while it is out of the way to pick up from, they have much better prices than local stores.

Popgadget, I'll place a nickel bet that it tore you up to admit defeat on that one. Hope you're alright from the slip.

Santa made his drop before I could chase that trespasser away last night. will need to check my camera's to see if they caught him.

Speaking of drops, ouch Paul... Looks like the pumps on my geothermal pumps, but mine are 240V.

Got potatos peeled for our afternoon meal. Oldest son got in about 10 last night, we actually beat him here by 3-4 minutes as we were invited over to a friends for cookies last night. Waiting for him to get out of bed, then we can unwrap.

calling for freezing rain tomorrow afternoon, rather have snow. hope they are wrong.

Didn't get in until 2am, but was great catching up with friends.

Propane delivery showed up yesterday, the guy gets more creative every visit with where he leaves the bill. Hint , more than 100' from the tank and not even on the same building this time.

Waiting for the wife and son to get up to open presents.
His GF parents got them both bobble heads.

Good morning tbn folks and a merry Christmas! Even if you follow a different religion, or none at all, hope your season is the very best.

We are at camp and having a grand holiday here. Temps are about 23 now and we're taking care of various jobs. Will need to pack this afternoon and head home since dearest works on Friday. We planned to head right back but noaa says we got weather moving back in. Later!

54°F and foggy this morning, going up to 63°. Not typical Christmas weather here either. We had a low-key celebration, as The Wife simply isn't in the holiday spirit this year. Went out and warmed up the burn barrel earlier, eliminating a bunch of accumulated cardboard.
