Good morning!!!!

32 outside this AM, that should be the high for today. Winds picking up, a good dusting to one inch of snow on the ground.

I avoided the vet and horse dentist yesterday. All the boarders were doing their own horse care, so lots of people and animals present. All good.

Got the lights up yesterday. Needed to make a hardware store run, sort of out of the area. Seems mini-lights are not the thing anymore. Only one store in the "area" had the stash I needed. I lost another old string after I hung it. Seems even testing before hanging just did not cut it. LOL. No issues, spent just a few hours hanging, and less than an hour on the roof.
Simple and done.

Not much going on now, just feeding the wood stove and will sit back for a day and just do nothing.

Prayers for our world. Hope all can enjoy the day. Be safe.

Checked out the flat faced couplers for leaks and found they are good. The transmission was over 3 quarts low so topped that off. Apparently been leaking for a while without noticing. It only leaked when it was activated so not that obvious to see
Cleaned up this old plier with WD40 and steel wool. Something satisfying about quality tools

The old 15 inch adjustable Bacho wrench is missing. Looked in all the usual places. No luck so far

29 and falling to 12 or lower tonight

Wngsprd and Thomas she so far just looks at it I’m glad

Very windy outside no snow

The prognosticators I read Drew pegged your area very well. I have personally identified the ones I believe are accurate. The national weather service weather channel have their own agenda and it is not always truthful trying to prove global warming etc. the heat wave they are predicting will be very short lived as Canada is reloading another mother load, LaNina weakening the AO and NAO are aligning up for more cold and storms.

More nice work Phil, thanks mostly prayers for Dons BIL and family, hope pup wasn’t tagged sodamo, glad you’re feeling better Lou

Prayers for all silent our spoken our Country

Good Morning
27°, which is likely today‘s high. Snowed all through the night, wife went out with a yardstick and reported 8-1/2”. That was considerably more than forecast.

Now I really wish that I had gotten to the driveway markers yesterday.
I did bring up a carryall load of firewood, and the tractor is backed in the heated shop, snow blade mounted, and ready to drive out plowing. So I’m not totally ill-prepared.

I did get some random cores done yesterday, did get to the hangar, brought my wife her tablecloth at the holiday market, and spent some time at the computer making models and printing them.

Here is a spark plug caddy for aircraft plugs, the get removed, cleaned and rotated annually.

Im enjoying the whole experience, it really has upped my 3D modeling capability. I admit that most of the stuff that I make is really just an exercise, but the capability really has come in handy.

I guess it’s time to eat some breakfast and get in the tractor, looks like the snow has ended. Be interesting to see what else i get into.

now that was good exercise, at least six inches of heavy wet snow
got my place done including the big pile at the road, then went over and did another
neighbor's road pile and did the other one on the way back. Then feeling ok,
went and did the whole private driveway next to me. Six families on it, they never seem to agree
on how to get it plowed on time. So I did that and I was both tired and soaked.
pulled off all my clothes at the door and hope to rest for a bit.

snowblower ran perfectly

probably need to go check on birdfeeders but I filled them all yesterday
after lunch going to pull car out and reset my rubber wheel chocks; had to move car forward four inches
to get the snowblower out. But now the grill is an inch away from the front and position sensors set up a howl.

Is the front wall of the garage in decent shape?
What is the front nose of your car like?
A rubber pad on the wall and just touch it with the nose of the car.
Or a school bus type mirror mounted on the wall so you can see the gap.

Morning all, 29 going to 31 and snow slowly leaving the area.
2" forecast is now 6"+ so need to get the tractor and plow out in a bit after I clean up the area by the cars. Will need to do neighbors driveway too.

Dog is very happy burying herself in the snow this morning.

Be well,

Happiness

The news from Providence RI brings up memories of time spent there working on Manchester Street generating station that was designed to integrate into the community to fit in the beautiful downtown area.

There is nothing more beautiful and serene than freshly fallen snow thanks for sharing. Things are so peaceful and quiet as it is falling and when the sky clears it is bluer than blue from last weekIMG_2033.jpeg

well said Buppies
boy I'm sniffling now, time to stay in
brought the car out to replace the cabin vent filter element
dealer suggested it last time
I asked them when it was changed last.
they said May and then said they recommended annual.
Ok, no thank you.
Besides I found the oem Denso online for ten bucks.
ordered that and pulled the old one out.
oh my
a critter buffet
and all this since May?
had a choice of oem thin Denso or thicker Bosch Hepa version.
wanted to make sure I was getting full cfm.
hopefully hvac works better now

I personally think this looks older than May.

67°F and no rain

Sunday - gonna watch some football

Later, neighbor wants us to visit a new property he is buying for our insight as to eventual house build. I consider that a compliment. Then we’ll head to town for dinner.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great tractor day

Good morning TBN!!
44 this morning when I got up and the temps are already falling. 38 now. Going to be cold and windy today. My nemesis!

Worked on the .22 a little bit again and will reassemble to day and call it done.
Next up is finding the reason the Magdrill trips GFCI every time I turn it on. Ground leak is probable I guess. Only trips when I turn the magnet on as there are two separate switches. May make it a bit easier.
Nice Christmas party last night.
Me my wife and our hosts:

Usually a PJ theme Good times!

Time for a second cup
Everyone have a great and safe day!!
Magnetic drills are hard on GFCI devices due to the stored energy in the magnet. It is also possible that your drill has an EMI filter and that has died. Personally, I just avoid using them on a GFCI circuit, but I'm sure one could rig up something with an EMI filter, if your doesn't have one.

I like the trick of hanging a tennis ball from the ceiling so that when you drive to the perfect spot, the ball just touches the windshield.

@daugen Gold star for being a good egg and taking care of your neighbors. One can't have too many good neighbors.

@sodamo Out of curiosity what does it cost to build a reasonable house in your area (not a Haole palace, just a normal for Hilo home)?

Off to the beach to let the dog run free in the ocean if there aren't other dogs around.

All the best,

Peter

Drew, which May? 2025? 2024?

I hope you filled up the snow blower after you got done with ethanol free fuel.
Be careful, that heavy wet snow (what I call heart attack snow) even with a blower can still cause a HA.
Bill, last service at dealer May 25
no, all it got was premium ethanol
I had the corn slow roasted for better flavor
