Both ends of the list are interesting. Rare planes sometimes show up with 1 in flight.

BCP yes that is an interesting list - I thought there would have been more private jets, G550 etc but those go fast and land, and sit then do the same a few days later at the whim of the owner.

Saw this today. A NASA P3. The P3 used to be, and still is, though being replaced, a submarine hunter. Given the rain we had from Chantal, my guess is that the plane is looking at flood waters? But one would think it would flying more over the rivers. It is flying low too at 3,200-3,000 feet.

Central NC got 10-12 inches of rain on Sunday so there is localized flooding. The water will be flowing down east to the coast.

This one just showed up hugging the coastline and avoiding bad weather to the west. A Ukrainian An-12 that took off from Titusville, FLA, aka Cape Canaveral, and is heading to Portsmouth, NH. It's last flight was Leipzig to Turin. No record of how it got to Titusville but supposedly, it is flying back to Leipzig after Portsmouth.

Watching the air tankers come and go on FR24 at the fire 50mi east of me. Here's an unusual one that is showing up.

A Flight Radar search for "TKR" will bring up fire Tankers(planes, not Water Tenders aka Tankers on the east coast US). of of the 10Tanker DC-10's was flying on the Gifford Fire yesterday. Looks like a Neptune BAe-146 is fly on that fire today.

Did you notice what type were the privately owned fighters?

I will see Kfirs, A4, and Mirages pretty frequently. I wonder if those are Viggins.

Sometimes I will see one or two private jets that are part of the exercises. Almost always see tankers. Last night a KC135 went over the house, by the time I got outside it was sorta hidden by trees. There might have been more than one KC135 because of the number of lights I was seeing but only one was on flight tracker.

And about an hour ago, two Mirages and one F16, all privately owned, at the gunnery range east of Yuma.

We hiked for a day on a military range near Yuma maybe 30 years ago. Amazing what's on the ground or there! We found anything from WW2 50cal brass, to small rocket parts (air to air?).
We checked in at the base and were allowed to be there.

We used to camp in Boy Scouts at an old ordinance factory grounds. Many places were marked CONTAMINATED!, so, of course, what do teenage boys do? Climb the fence! Bullets, brass, grenade fragments, parachutes...

You obviously did not encounter any un-detonated energetic materials otherwise you wouldn't be here and I presume you can still count to 20 on your fingers and toes.
