Ford New Holland 3930 Fuel System

So it was running and then it wouldn't run after you changed the fuel filter? Just curious? I've been around diesels all my life and saw a lot of things and just trying to get an idea what took place here. If it wasn't running and you changed the filter in hopes it would run that would make more sense to me. The practice of prefilling filters used to be acceptable but not anymore. As fuel system injection pressures increased and common rail systems came into play it has become a big no no to prefill. Let the system self prime as intended so the filter(s) can catch the contaminants. Hope you have it running now.

Anyone know if I can use a standard injector from a New Holland 3930 in a late 98/99 emission NH 3930 engine?

I bought this tractor not running, didn't know it was a 1998 emission tractor, PO said he changed the fuel filter and he could not get it to run after new filter. To say the least, I have learned a lot about the NH 3930 emission tractor and everything I have learned cost money, rebuilt injection pump, all injectors rebuilt, new filter assembly, not to mention learning how to get the pump set in time to take it off the tractor. It is a learning experience that I love, but after getting it all back on the tractor it runs pretty bad with no power like it is out of time. I stopped at that point waiting for a good day to check out the injectors again.

These numbers must be for the nozzles for the injectors. I have not been able to find the replacement injectors yet. When I enter the number for the emissionized injector the search takes me to Ebay, Amazon, and a lot of other sites, but all I get is standard Ford NH injectors, nothing for the emission tractors.
My original injectors are marked LRABO 1601A JGR Lucus. I am sure some Diesel shop could direct me to the right nozzles

I wanted to give a little update on the NH 3930. I installed the rebuilt injection pump and injectors along with new fuel filter assembly, and got the tractor started. It didn't run as smooth as I was hoping. I talked to Dudley Carr at D&C Diesel about possible problems. I may have to reset the timing down from 29 degrees on the flywheel a few degrees and see how it runs. I have this tractor in a enclosed shed without heat so I have not been in a hurry to start back on it. I will post another update soon

It was nice and warm today so thought I would work on the NH 3930. The last time I took the injectors out and wanted to make sure I had the right injectors. In the mean while I did conclude I do have the correct injectors, so reinstalled them again today, making sure the return lines are correct and started the tractor, It sounded good other than a pinging sound, but is way down on power. Could this be valves out of adjustment or a problem with the turbo. Any help would be appreciated, thanks

29 degrees seems like a lot of advance. I recall the spec of 19 degrees coming up before. Just curious where the 29 number came from?
