Yanmar
My neighbor just sold me a JD 3038e with my intention to resale, but now im trying to decide on keeping it and selling my yanmar ym3110d and a ym2610d, both great tractors, no major problems.

These yanmars are great, but they are 40 year old grey market tractors, and that do pretty much any thing I ask. I have noticed that with a heavily loaded trailer, the lift arms aren’t as strong on that JD as on the Yanmars and the front wheels will come off the ground with a heavy trailer.

The JD is a low hour, 2014 model, that has no issues, purrs like a kitten. While in a perfect world I would keep all 3, my agreement with the “boss” is I would sell the John Deere or both of the yanmars!

Any thoughts? I paid 15k for the John Deere, can get about that for the yanmars.

Not my business, but if that was my situation, I'd probably consolidate to one newer Yanmar.

The only reasons I didn't get a Yanmar were dealers proximity and price. They were still a lot cheaper than a similar JD. From my view, a much better machine. The only advantage of the JD is proximity of dealers.

I’d probably keep the JD, just because I think long term it will hold its value more then your gray market tractors.

Yanmar is a Grey tractor??????? When I used to go to work in Dallas, 1970's time line, Yanmar was the first non-old time, traditional brand to arrive in this area in the smaller tractor category. Also Yanmar has made a large contribution to JD tractors, especially in the engine category. A Yanmar engine is in my LS and if I'm not mistaken, in my neighbor's 2016 JD 5240R. How do you get a quality brand name listed as a Grey Market?????

The machines are gray market machines. Yanmar was here, but those models presumably were not sold in the States.

Grey market refers to how they were imported, not about the quality.

The problem is that those models get no domestic support (warranty, parts etc.) in the US.
