How the Ford 8N was customized with non-tractor engines

/ How the Ford 8N was customized with non-tractor engines #22
I was just doing some reading on the Funk brothers engine swap business. It sounds like there were 3 options- 226 CI flathead 6, 215 CI OHV 6, and the flathead V8. It looks like the flathead v8's never really caught on. I'm guessing the primary reason was increased fuel consumption? I can imagine they would be very good at PTO work.

Thanks for posting Ed. Cool stuff. This has got to be the first time I ever saw an 8N with a Honda engine! LOL
There is a restored 8N in my area I have been trying to buy that has a Canadian flathead V8 in it.

I just read those Honda's were 118 hp and 125 ft.-lb. of torque
