When I bought my 2012 JD3720 second hand in 2016, the dealer gave me a bunch of parts that I think he said were a safety system to prevent the loader from tipping out the front or over the back when the loader is raised. Not a self-levelling loader, but some kind of safety to prevent accidents. Either way, it was not fitted to the tractor, and I never did anything with it - just put it on a shelf in the back of the shed. Now, while cleaning up, I've come across it again. The rats have had a chew on these hydraulic bits, but I presume they're electrically-operated hydraulic solenoid valves. If so, what cool projects could I use them for?

I thought it was a multiplier, but can't see where it would get input from.

There are two fittings on the top of the last picture. There's a rat-chewed plastic protector on each. Sorry, I didn't realise I didn't photograph that part until now.

This is part of the anti spill system. This was feature for the AU market. I don't think the US loaders came with it.

Basically, as you raise the loader, it won't let you drop whatever it's in the bucket, on top of you and the tractor. It uses a set of cams and linkages on the loader that actuate a limit switch that then turns those solenoids on or off to stop the loader from moving.

I knew someone smarter than me would figure this out!

Yes, that's it.

I don't want to install the anti spill system, so what else could I use these components for? Third function on the loader, maybe?

It's only an On/Off valve. Think of it as a ball valve for a garden hose.

Can't really work as a third function.

It's green so it probably cost at least $1000. I'd part with it in a minute. The "function" seems like it would be more frustrating than usefull.

Why are there two solenoids? Wouldn't just one in-line do it on the return or is there bleed through the pressure?

One is for the lift and the other is for the curl. It locks both functions once it trips the limit switches.
