does def go bad, if so how do you tell that it is bad. then what do you do with it?
Yes, diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) can go bad if it becomes contaminated or if it is stored improperly. It is recommended to use DEF within one year of purchase and to keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to maintain its effectiveness.does def go bad, if so how do you tell that it is bad. then what do you do with it?
thanks to all for your help. i bought a 250 gal tote with about 100 gallons of def; at an auction. but it had a pump system on it that i wanted, so i made out ok.If you buy jugs, ALWAYS make sure the seal is intact before opening. Years ago there were reports of WalMart jugs refilled with water.
Yeah, I sure wouldn't use DEF that has an unknown history. It takes VERY little to contaminate DEF.thanks to all for your help. i bought a 250 gal tote with about 100 gallons of def; at an auction. but it had a pump system on it that i wanted, so i made out ok.
