MF 231S
I have MF 231S. It has started leaking from ps pump where the red circle is and on the steering section. I have top off with fluid while I’m using it. When I get ready to take fill screw off, a lot of air come out every time. Also when top off, it will make whining noise when turning it either direction. What can cause leaks and is it easy fix???

Not sure on how easy or hard the fix would be, but it looks like a compression type or flair fitting on the line side. The fitting where it goes into the pump is an oring base type. See illustrations.
Try tightening or take off and look for a crack in the line. If this is the return line, you may be getting air somehow through that fitting. Likewise, if the fluid level is low, the pump will cavitate, pull in air, and cause the bubbles and whine.

When I top it off with fluid, that’s when it whine when turning either side.

U talking about filter on top of reservoir. It’s definitely spitting it out but not from fill hole but from fitting.

Replace the O ring after a good wash first, and then recheck for leaks. The O rings can age and get hard, crack permanently deform etc.

You might have to have the power steering pump rebuilt and a new power steering filter installed inside the pump, need new rubber power steering hoses, and the hydraulic control valve on the steering shaft is probably leaking and needs a new one or needs to be rebuilt.

You need to clean everything up real good with degreaser and see exactly where everything is leaking from.

I took fitting off and there is no o-ring. It’s just flare fitting that is leaking around this part.

How can I get that part manual or item number?

Fitting number try 354469X1. Line number 1680493M92 for serial number J31062 or 0014638U91 for serial number J31063 and up. At least that's what sows up in AGCO parts list. Lots different lines, pumps, and such, but those look like what matches your photo.

Would replacing union and line help with this or could it be something inside pump bad also??

I believe you will need to replace the complete hose that’s leaking. I think it’s the hose itself leaking. The new fitting should be on the new hose.

Are u saying replace metal hydraulic lines with rubber ones?
