This was a scary challenge. On the first pass, we stayed about 4-6" away from the turf. This is the second pass where we got on top of it. It turned out well and there was no damage to the fake grass.

I didn't know that they mixed real grass when fake grass was used. Seems like more work for them having real grass to deal with.

It's not really mixed, but it's next to each other. This is done often to save money by not having to pay for the fake grass outfield. On baseball, most of the 'rainouts' are caused by the infield being too wet, therefore they put fake grass on the infield.

I spent a few days last week at the Deep South Turf Expo in Biloxi. Since I am president of the Louisiana Turfgrass Association, I am also appointed to serve on the board of the Deep South Turf Expo. It was a great show with lots of educational programs, lots of vendors, and lots of networking.
