While I've never owned or operated a tractor with only a DPF ... I've been driving trucks that had the DPF since they came out ... I run over 150,000 miles per year ... What's your experience?
To get a tractor with the HP and weight to replace my old one I will be dealing with a DPF. Is this something I can live with?
I have a 2017 truck with DEF, a 2019 truck with, DEF, a 2015 skid steer with a DPF, a second skid steer that’s 2022 maybe with a DPF and a mini x with a DPF. The 2019 truck I don’t use much but the rest of the equipment is working every day.
The problem with my tractor is it never breaks down. This is very true.
It should also be noted that it's mostly people who have had trouble that post. Not many that I've seen.
People that are happy generally don't post.
The problem is not so much with the tractors I have. I'm getting old and sore. My 424 has such a miserable clutch design I rarely use it. My JD is better but getting around the shift hump is getting old too. I'm getting a new knee this winter so that should help but I spend so much time on tractors I would like a flat floor and hydrostatic transmission. If the old one has been doing the job, maybe it just needs a bit of TLC? Or even a rebuild?
Another thing I just remembered, just last month the EPA came out with a proposal (it's not law and written in stone yet!) about abolishing ALL greenhouse gasses emissions standards for vehicles and engine's ... EPA Releases Proposal to Rescind Obama-Era Endangerment Finding, Regulations that Paved the Way for Electric Vehicle Mandates | US EPA they are having a 45 day comment period, then will do "something " ...
If you can hold out until that is decided, and wait for the manufacturers to respond with new tractors without the computer controlled stuff, if that's what they decide ... I would.
My company buys over 100 semi-trucks every year, we started last year doubling up on the purchases, to have a newer fleet, when the new tier 5 is due to come out in 2028, so we could skip buying those new tier 5 trucks for the first two years, while others got to be the guinea pigs, and hopefully they could get the majority of the problems worked out before we bought any ...
You learn nothing that way. He is asking if people have had problems, and they have. He needs input from the many people who have owned these machines and had them fail.Id a lot rather hear from someone successfully using the product vs someone who has never owned it.
At least there is a 5 year warranty on emissions. That may outlive me hah.I have no experience with DPF systems, but know people who have had machines shut down due to issues with these systems. Some of these have been cause by bad sensors that tell the computer there is no DEF present.
Unfortunately you have limited options. But to run this system if needing a new or fairly new tractor soon.

Your approach is like going to Amazon, spending a grand on a product, and refusing to look at the bad reviews. The bad reviews are more helpful than the good ones.
Neither are replies from the minor few who have had problems. The replies from people who haven't had problems yet aren't actually useful.
The type of usage you get commercially far exceeds the amount of hours that noncommercial use will compile for either a truck or tractor. It’s far more likely that your usage will wear out components than non commercial users would. While I've never owned or operated a tractor with only a DPF ... DPF and DEF are two different (but related) things. Tractors between 25-75 hp have DPF which seem pretty reliable. Tractors above 75 HP have DEF. I don't know how reliable DEF systems are on tractors but on semis and diesel RVs they have been plagued with expensive problems.I have no experience with DPF systems, but know people who have had machines shut down due to issues with these systems. Some of these have been cause by bad sensors that tell the computer there is no DEF present.
