I always kinda found in my operation that the “sticky” bales were the ones with excessive moisture, or baled too early and the stems were still damp.

When I did rounds, I used a 2-long prongs set up. Mush better stability and could be used to pick up 2 bales at once.

I own a Kabota MX 5400 and i’m just getting some of my pasture hayed for the first time. I don’t own a set of hayforks and I was just wondering if you guys that do haying have recommendations on forks two prong three prong round, prong, etc. I’m not going to be producing much hay probably 15 rolls max. I know some operators use a fork on the back and a fork on the front. I will be loading a customer’s trailer and the rolls are 1300 to 1500 pounds. Any recommendations appreciated

I bought a set of chain on ones for my TLB and they are handy for the large squares, and also use the grapple on my tractor, with the MX probably best to just go ahead get a quick attach bale spear like has been posted for round bales.

Can you send me some recommendations and web links so I can get an idea of what could work for me. I hate to be ignorant on this but I’ve got 15 bales on the ground now and now need to be able to load them. Thanks.

I would buy something made from HLA. Might not work for you in Texas though.

If you are in an hurry and you have a SS QA, almost any farm dealers should have a SS QA bale spear on the lot. Not sure current price, but they USED to be well under $500.

I run a lot of HLA attachments. My bale spear is HLA.
