In between, shopping
Looks like the only two options are the factory one which is a diverter style and WR Long which is true third function. Kind of leaning towards the WR Long kit, called them about switch placement on the handle. After some confusion and questions they said that they provide a new joystick handle that also has the 2 buttons needed for A/B mode and throttle up.

That being said, has anyone purchased and installed it? Is it a fairly easy install, and is the valve and hose placement neat and clean? As much as I would like a true third function, don’t want a mess of stuff hanging on the tractor or a PITA install. Can make do with a diverter if it’s a clean easy install and looks more factory.

Any input from the group?

I have a YM347 and had dealer install the Yanmar kit at purchase so it would be covered under warranty. All metal lines up front.

As a Yanmar and WR Long dealer, I've installed both. While it is live, the WR Long kit is definitely more of a clunky, add-on, one-size-fits-all type of kit. The Yanmar is in my opinion a far superior kit, steel lines, and actually if my memory serves me correctly, uses the same joystick. We figure 2 hours to install the Yanmar kit.

Having just purchased a YT359 two weeks ago, I went back and forth on this as well. Both dealers and the Yanmar EVO folks said the same thing as above, the WR Long is not as well integrated from the plumbing, to the handle, to the way it mounts to the corner of the cab above the loader connections. That pushed me toward the Yanmar 3rd function on mine. While visiting the EVO store, I got to see the WR Long on another tractor and it certainly sticks out. The service folks there also said you have to modify the harness for the loader handle to make it work.

There is a slick(er) implementation of the WR Long done by PR Equipment in Texas, they use the factory loader handle and install a custom switch where the diverter button is. You can see it on couple of their Youtube videos on the YT. Probably the best solution of all is if you're able to do a custom install of the WR Long with better placement, better plumbing, and a modified OEM loader handle. I'm still holding out judgement on how valuable that live 3rd function would be for me.

I took delivery this week of a YT359c and went with the Long because of the buttons. Also read that the diverter style in general (overall not Yanmar) don't hold as well. The Yanmar setup is much cleaner and you can feather. Was a tough decision for sure.

This shows The Long on a rops model aroung the 1:15 mark
. Mounts the same on the cab version.

Not an expert. YT359C.
I chose the WR Long system mainly because I like the full functionality as opposed to the diverter style. It allows simultaneous control.

I purchased the valve kit through my dealer at the same time as the tractor and installed it myself.

There is an existing weldment on the right side that the valve bolts right up to.
I see no issue with the flexible lines as opposed to hard lines as they are well out of the way to any possible damage.

It came with a flip switch that replaces a button switch on the FEL joystick. The switch has a square fascia plate that I rounded with a sander to fit nicer into the joystick. You do need to fish the valve control wire up through the joystick. Only two wires to connect.

I do not like the connection point bracket on the cross member at the ftont of the FEL as it only uses one bolt and tends to swivel. I am going to add another bolt to prevent this.

It just works.

I've since added a Constant flow kit from Laneshark to power my LS-2.

Currently the LS-2 is the only attachment I own that uses remote hydraulics so I have yet to use the toggle switch as the LS-2 has it's own on-off switch box.

I put a WR Long 3rd function on my Kioti CX2510 a few years ago.

It was horrible. And I had two professional Mechanics helping me. Farm Machinery Mechanics. The one with 20 years experience threw his hands up and walked away.

The directions were next to useless and thank goodness I watched a YouTube on it first because there was one part that had to be removed or it wouldn't work. Instructions didn't even mention it at all. That would have put me over the edge. Working space is also very limited. CUTs have the same stuff as the Big Boys but it's all crowded into a much smaller space.

If a Kioti Part had been available I would have done that instead. But you know how that is. They all (OEM) make them. Sometimes. Maybe. Mostly they're out of stock, on backorder and have NO Clue when they'll be in.

So I went with the WR Long. It works well but the installation process SUCKED!

I can understand it. Dozens of Manufacturers, dozens of models of each, dozens of changes every year. It would be impossible to keep up. So I'm not really knocking WR Long but if I had access to an OEM 3rd function, I would have done that. Wish I'd had the dealer put it on for me when I bought it but you know what they say about wishing in one hand and -- Something

This is why many simply have it dealer installed. I also thought the instructions sucked but over the phone and email support was fantastic.

I trailered my DK45 tractor to local tractor dealer/shop. They told me it would take 2 hours. I busied myself in town for 4 hours until i ran out of stuff to do. At 5 hr mark i drove back to dealer…they never even looked at it. Even though i had an appointment. Their excuse was 2 mechanics out sick. In a huff i reloaded tractor and headed back home.

I opened the box and i thought the instruction were very straight forward. It took me 3.5 hrs to install it. The worst part was removal of the seat. In a cab tractor….that SUCKS.

BUT after ir was all back together, i had one very minor dripping connector. Luckily i tried it while seat was still off. Tightened everything again. No leaks.

I actually thought it was fairly easy install. I wish i tried it before i trailered the tractor.

I used it with grapple for a few days, then pulled grapple to use bucket.

Thats when i realized if you accidentally bump the push buttons, the diverter kind of dead heads. Sounds nasty. I was going to make a hose loop, but instead had a brain storm.

I added a lit rocker switch on right side spare switch hole. Now i simply kill the 12 v to the 3rd function when not in use. No more deadheading.

That switch should come in package. But im real happy with it.

As a side note, while the kit uses hoses, all the hoses and fittings fit wit perfect lengths. All the brackets with predrilled holes lined up perfectly. The front bracket had 3 holes that fit the 3 hole existing support bracket. Everything looks like factory install.
