Good morning!!!!

Good evening all. 68ºF for the start, clear sky, light breeze. Light wind, some build up as I went east, high temp was 94ºF HI 104ºF. Made coffee to start the day, oatmeal for breakfast, bike ride, lunch, catch up on news, nap, pack for overnight in Paris, TX, drive there. Still trying to decide on 57 or 68 miles.

M7040, wonder if gopher gravy goes well with smoked groundhog? I had a skunk burrowing under my slab. Tried Raid, tried smoke, nothing doing, but shoved the water hose on in the hole and he flew out of there running. The chase was on, driving the old Gator one handed with my Rem 1100 in the other hand in the night. He almost got away, but I wanted to nail him after he was at least 100 yds from the house. And so it was...

BEF, the porch is looking good, especially the trex !!!

Got the pond rake bucket attachment angle iron welded up today (only the triangles). Let my son do almost all of it after a quick course, then supervised/coached. I'm not that good of a welder. Gorilla welds are my specialty. Big, ugly and strong as heck. I am having 2nd, 3rd, 4th and more thoughts on how to hold it up, with cable or rope and how much strength I need. I wish the 2 3/8 oilfield pipe was lighter. The joints are 20' long, which is how long I really need it but thinking I might need to shorten them some. I plan on holding and lifting it with the cable/rope attached to hooks on top of the bucket. I have 1/8" stranded cable, but worried about whiplash if it snaps. Rope is not cheap anymore, especially quality rope. Does anyone have experience with dyneema rope?
Amazon.com : dyneema synthetic rope

Here's a very rough sketchup. We used to call these napkin blueprints...drawn and discussed at lunch. Needing to determine how strong the yellow tension lines need to be. May shorten X to 10' if I have to. I have plenty of pipe, and 10' lengths can be utilized in other capacities if they are too short.

Trex is just finishing up the first 2 buildings of four in their plant next to my shop. Huge massive 500 acre complex.

Their main building makes my shop (old large trucking depot) look like a little kids play house

I wonder if they sell factory direct

Coffee has been poured. 57° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 80° with chance of thunderstorms in evening. Made a quick run to Menards for some Bird seed that was on sale. Shower doors are repaired at neighbors. Got back field cut. That was enough for the day. Plan for today is put neighbors shower doors back in place. Then work on install and wiring up directional lights on SxS.
Stay out of my way.

Everyone stay well and safe.

Good Morning All.

good morning all
great pic Ron
might be a few showers out now, sort of hope not to keep lawn dry but oh well, at least rest of day is dry and not
too hot. Slept well last night, enjoying first cup of coffee.

nice 77th birthday party for next older brother, his son and grandkids were there.
12 yo daughter has achieved that elevated position where she knows she knows more than her father does
and my that makes for some minor fireworks
don't take my picture
I wasn't
you were pointing it this way
no I wasn't.

normal kid stuff

a bit worried I might have a hernia. Strangely my oncologist asked me do you know you have a hernia?
nothing hurts, but now something in groin where leg meets hip. All my walking today will likely set it off, as it has
become hard to walk for very long.
I really need the extra grande supremo fountain of youth special
when I find it, I promise to share

coffee going down nicely, time for a long hot shower and then will work on cooler of drinks and snacks
for later.

could be an interesting collection of guys here, family, neighbors, friends, and my landlord. Landlord had to write
certified letter to one neighbor to stop dumping leaves and crap on back of our property. Not much got done...three foot pile of leaves
over many years. So today we take the tractor and push it all back and level it out. I invited that neighbor to help...will be interesting to see if he
shows up.

thank goodness for Ken helping, someone with woods knowledge. Dropping trees far different than chopping up stuff on the ground.
we only have one to drop so this should be easy. The rest is just brush cleanup, 50+ years of folks dumping stuff in woods, finally going to get
cleaned up a bit. I'm hoping we are done much quicker than expected, so everyone can get home on a Saturday.

last time we did this BIL parked truck and trailer across the street in municipal lot and didn't tell anyone, nice officer showed up half an hour later and asked if trailer belonged to us. He just wanted to make sure it wasn't abandoned, parks and rec guy, whose wife I went to school with, called the cops when he saw the trailer. Police were super nice. This time I emailed the chief of police and the parks and rec guy ahead of time.
simple courtesy I should have done last time. Don't want to wear out the welcome.

Enjoy your day all.

3 hours of mowing Thomas, you have about two acres of lawn to mow?
if lawn is bumpy, try gel bottom cushion on seat
I don't mind the riding, easy with power steering and a necker knob on the wheel, but
the trimming is tiresome. It's the exercise I need but don't enjoy.

fed the birds, fed myself, heading out, need to park car on lawn to make room for others.
hope you all have a good day.

Good Morning,
Vt, 51 to start going to 78 or so. Beautiful day yesterday after an early morning shower. Most of the day was on the lake enjoying. Our guests enjoyed a wonderful day 🙏

Might want to close the windows before you go to bed Friday night.
You were right Thomas 😉
well I guess we are showing our age...
like Scott using a crank on his car
Drew, I remember cutting the grass for my Pop, he had an old reel mower with a rope start Briggs and Stratton engine. That was quite a contraption 😉🤣

Kyle, great story, I can visualize the whole thing, almost spit out my coffee 😉😂

More lake time today and then we are going to the Dorset Theatre tonite after going out to dinner. Another beautiful day on tap.

Hope all enjoy their Saturday 🙏
