My good friend is an avid poker player and was on the cover of Card Player magazine one issue. A gambler it's really hard getting honestly out of them and probably true of any addiction but he did admit to me years ago, 1990s, that he gambled away $300,000!
It's always trying to get that lost money back, but the house always wins!
He's 67 and working, no hope to ever retire.

When Grandma visited, she wanted to go to the local Indian casino. It was a grand building and when we entered the building I looked down and tugged on my wifes sleeve. You see that gold grout between the floor tiles? Oh yes, she said excitedly. Well, that's what other visitors left here. You have a $100 limit.

Maybe I'm wrong about the hotels paying my dad's plane fare, but the other stuff, I'm sure of.

My mother in-law, up until recently due to health issues, frequents the local casinos. She keeps good track of her winnings. She leaves the house with $150 and comes home with more than that, she won. She rarely has a bad night, usually spends about 4 hours there. She gets a free meal every time she goes there. It could be 7 days a week. Free meal. Once a month she gets free stuff. Small appliances, mostly. If she walks up to the floor manager and asks for some comp money, they'll give her 4 meals and she'll take us to dinner.

Now, we can sit right next to her, at the same exact machine as her, bet the exact same amount as her, and we'll lose $20 in 5 minutes while she'll win $100. I'm still suspicious that they use certain people as winners to lure others to their demise!

The string trimmer attachment I purchased last week showed up. It had 6 parts. 2 were missing and 2 were incorrect. Applied for another one and got return instructions. New one should arrive Tuesday.

At least they got the box correct. :ROFLMAO:

I bought a replacement carburetor, fuel lines, and bung kit for $15 from Amazon. Refreshed my Echo SR122 nicely. And some Ethanol Shield for here on out.

The appeal of gambling mystifies me. It would mean nothing to me to win a thousand dollars, but I know from experience that I hate losing twenty.

Alex Trebek said pretty much the same thing.

Gamblers are amazing people. The law permits every casino to rig every game, and gamblers should know that, but they still flock to the tables. They see those multi-billion-dollar hotels in Vegas, and it never occurs to them that losers paid for them.

Where are all the huge businesses people finance with gambling winnings?

Back on topic... I purchased a quick hitch from TSC.
Have not tried it yet, but will be testing it out next time I go out to my property.

TSC Tool Tuff Cat 1 Quick Hitch

Reviews are mostly positive, but I did read a few that said they had to modify the top attachment hook to make a wider opening. Hoping that a hydraulic top link on my tractor will make that unnecessary.

I also bought a pin to attach my backhoe thumb. Dealer didn't include it 4 years ago when I bought the tractor, but I never got around to installing it so I didn't realize it. Finally went to install it and the pin was missing. Dealer would not give it to me free 4 years later so I accepted partial fault and bought the replacement ($70). Well, it arrived and it's the wrong pin. Nice.

Over the years I've known 2 people like that. One was my mother's friend.
She'd always walk out of bingo up at least $100-200.
If I drove them sometimes I'd go in and play a few games. I could get the first numbers but never the last one I needed. I could just see the gremlins laughing at me.
Under the O... someone else:LOL:

Since we were getting tired of yanking out the watering hose from our attached garage and connecting it to another hose that was connected to the vegetable garden sprinklers a little ways off, I ordered the following parts to put together a 3/4" inlet wall sillcock for my better half:

Woodford model 30P-12
Sharkbite 3/4" tee
Sharkbite hose with shut off valve

I have to drive 50 miles to buy ethanol free since our local supplier quit selling it. Do you have a link for the ethanol shield. And how well does it work for small engines?

I haven't used it yet. But my buddy who is a excellent mechanic with lots of old equipment swore by it for preventing the problems caused by ethanol gas in small engines.
In the last year I have replaced the carburetor in a weed wacker, a lawn mower, a rototiller. We don't have Ethanol Free option in CA. Enough is enough.

My swim ankle straps arrived and I've been using them for a little over a week now. They work great! 24' pool makes it hard to do laps! Three strokes, hit the wall. Repeat. :ROFLMAO:

So I bought these. I hook them to the deck railing and off I go. I started easy but quickly got up to 1/2 an hour at a time. Very nice. The cord is long enough that I can stand in the pool to put them on or take them off with a couple feet of slack. I can do breast stroke, free style and back stroke, so lots of versatility.

I also bought a version that is a waist belt VS the ankle straps. That arrived yesterday. Will try it out this week and see which one I like better.
