Morning all, 84 going to 96 and sunny.
Had to take in hanging plants, they were literally burning, already look better this morning.
Even fig tree was looking a little wilted.

Sanded down the Acacia table in the gazebo, did some weedwhacking around the front trees, that was about all I could do in the afternoon heat after work.

And it did hit 100.

Town finally came by and trimmed down by the main road, cutting down all the tiger lilies as they were about to open. oh well

Be well,

Good morning, the low is 63 and going to a high of 77°F. Wind NE 6 mph. Sunny!
We've got a couple of cooler days then back into the oven.

Wow! Powerball draw tonight worth $140,000,000.oo That is a lot of zeros! Even after Unca Donald takes his cut, that is still a lot of zeros.
Canadian lotteries are not taxed. Only the interest you make off them are.

Going to the dump today for another load of compost. One more to go after this one, for a total of three.

Time to get on with 'it'.

Have a safe day all

Good Morning
Already 85° out there, sunny and not much breeze.

Another day to not work outside, which won’t be an issue, as I have to fly to Pittsburgh at noon and kill time there until 8pm.

It will definitely take me longer driving back and forth to the airport than flying the trip.

Other than doing online TSA training, I don’t recall accomplishing anything noteworthy yesterday. Might actually find something interesting to do in Pittsburgh today, I’ll have plenty of time and a rental car.

92 deg already. watched the hee haw episode, thanks L4N. My youngest son is Loretta Lynn fan, ever since she was on the Dukes of Hazzard. We have visited her ranch in TN and toured her house.

I have done nothing outside in the heat, nor inside in the heat. we only hit 97deg yesterdayd and today to be slightly cooler. Only have to go out this afternoon for hair cut. Hope wife returns in time with the mazda, or else I have to unhook trailer from truck first.

Various LWS on WU report temps ranging from 74F to 86F @ 09:00, all are within a couple of miles of here. The sun is out and is very bright.

Nobody here is up besides myself.

Yesterday was a pretty relaxed day, with substantial amounts of energy being conserved.

Plants on shelves out back watered first thing, did not get any more moved down from the greenhouse in the dining room.

17 winter squash/pumpkin seeds out of the last 30 I planted have sprouted:

Made further progress on clearing off the kitchen table.

Since I wanted to change the water in the jars with the sweet potato seeds that meant that something would have to be done about the perpetual disaster that is our kitchen sink.

This could all be avoided if someone could grasp the concept that the kitchen sink is not a long-term "storage area" for dirty dishes, with both basins needing to be kept filled at all times.

So the sink got emptied out and the dishwasher loaded and run.

After that I was able to get the water changed in the sweet potato seeds and can happily report that at least 5 (of 11) seeds have developed roots and are starting to sprout:

Got home phone/internet bill paid.

Got checks cut for real estate taxes which are not due for another 3 weeks and stuck those in an envelope and put a stamp on it.

Refilled tube feeders and hopper feeder, also scattered some seeds for the ground feeders.

Cleaned out old peanut butter jar with a spatula wiping the old stuff on a plastic container and set that on the perch that holds dried corn on the cob for the squirrels.

Did another glue up and clamping on a raised bed board.

Move all 3 short t posts into the garage where it was cooler.

Used wire brush in angle grinder set to low speed with HFT speed control to clean off one short t post and took it back outside to spray with primer once temps went back below 90F.

Noticed groundhog out back and headed to bed room to see if I could get a shot. As I went to open the window I spotted a pair of white spot fawns at the edge of the flower bed.

Not wanting to spook those two, I decided to hold off on taking the shot but decided to open the window, hoping they would depart and I could still take a shot.

That alerted the groundhog which dove for its burrow ... which in turn alerted the fawns who proceeded to head directly for that new fence of deer we had put up.

The first one took the fence (and itself) down ... with the second bounding over the pile of fence and fawn and headed off into the woods.

The first one eventually got up and sort of wandered over to the middle of the lawn over the leach field, and just stood there looking pretty dazed and confused.

So I fired off a round in its general direction, making sure to aim so that I didn't actually hit it.

It just stood there for a minute or two before it finally decided to follow its sibling off into the woods.

After that I decided to head out and start mowing down here around the house.

But first I started to prime that t post since the temps had cooled off a bit. Was a partially empt can of primer, got 1/3 the post primed before the valve on the can clogged ... 🤬

Got east side about 85% done along with the area over the leach field ... towards the end of that I got the notification rain would be starting in 15 minutes.

Made it back inside - with the partially primed t post - just as the drops started to fall.

Eventually a Special Weather Statement was issued and we got a deluge ... really poured for about 5 to 10 minutes. Storm turned severe over Green, OH, one city east of us.

So more watering moves down the list for a few more days.

Really do need to get that rain gauge put up ... along with an outdoor thermometer.

Went back out after dinner and got fence put back up. Need to put some ribbons on it.

Not sure what all on agenda for today.

Only calling for a high of 88F ... but dew point is currently 073F so it will likely be nasty out there again today.

Squeak joined me in the garage the other day ... and she was really in her element:

interesting first haircut, she was ok, very pleasant and wanted 45 for a haircut last guy was charging
me 20 for. Now I was paying 40 anyway with tip, but it only takes about five minutes to cut my hair and going to look
around for alternatives.

went to local garden shop that had a sale, so hot I came home dripping and said enough of that.

Good Morning,
Ct, another hot and humid day. I’m with kathleen this morning at the local Orthopedic Center. Lots of trouble with her lower back the last few months and today another shot in her lower spine 🥲 Looking for answers at this point. The prednisone they gave her has helped a lot but you can’t be on that forever. I drove because she won’t be able to after this shot.

Today need to get the grass mowed and do a few other odds and ends.

Don, congrats to you and your lovely wife for many more. My parents made 71 years together before my Pop passed.

Hope all have a great day 🙏

Still $18 for seniors here. Hope you reduced your tip.

Morning all;
Another repeat day up to 91F with a real feel of 99F..
Worked on the flail mower main beam a bit, early this morning, may start tacking it back together tomorrow.
Then finished mowing the lawn, and back in to cool and hydrate.

damaged.......................................cut apart...........................new rectangular tube and old pivot
Damaged main beam 7.jpg
damaged piece 12.jpg
starting the fit up 16.jpg

And I also got a good start grinding to fit the round to the rectangle.
Got to looking for my big C clamps they must be over to the farm, I'll need to swing over and look and pickup my little rod oven. May even run over to Saratoga to HF and pickup a few more clamps so that I can try and keep everything straight and square as I start welding.
But need to stay at the house for a while today 2 packages that need to be sighed for and you have to be fast or these jokers will do a quick dash and run instead of giving a person a bit of time. One from FedEx and one UPS, we shall see.

Tomorrow is calling for a high of 73F almost 20 degrees cooler and just a small amount of rain possible under a tenth of an inch, then another tenth Friday and close to a half Saturday.

All stay safe and cool,
only a bit over two months till September and hopefully nicer weather

Edited; we had a small bear visit last night the SOB took down two feeders and over turned the trash can I keep bird seed in, got the two feeders straighten out a bit. Now decide what to do little sucker also carried off one of the mineral blocks I get that are illegal to feed to deer, so mine are for the squirrels.

68°F and 47 inches rain

Busy day yesterday.
Doctor really pleased with her eye healing. Next appointment not until September

25 g diesel one $100, fill up Tundra at $4.70 almost another 100.

Terrific meal out with friends. Shared a family style meal for the 8 of us. Probably didn’t hurt that one of the guys is Chinese and friends with the owner who have same name. Every dish excellent.

Rain will dictate today’s activities apparently

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
