Hello all, The tension adjsuter blew off last night due to the heat and bad parts I guess (held together with plastic) - There are no replacement parts from branson/ Tym without buying the whole 1200$ chair and tensioner. Any ideas on a generic replacement that fits? it is probably in Centimeters, but measures a square 14" bolt pattern.

TIA!

James

If you search for tractor seat suspensions using your favorite search engine you should come up with numerous options.
You should be able to replace just the suspension and reuse the actual seat if desired.
My personal preference is for an air suspension, $400 to $600 for a nice one.
Or if really cheap, my mower suspension seat aid; I just shoved an seat air spring in.

I have attached a pic. The plastic "pin" that holds the bolt to the spring to be adjusted is what is broken - highlighted in red by the "x". The bottom of the suspension needs to be 14" by 14" to fit in the bolt pattern to reattach to the tractor cab.

***My problem is I cannot find a universal or any other seat pattern that is 14" x 14" to fit. If anyone can find it I would really appreciate the help!

Oh wow, I'm looking through a figurative pile of universal suspension seat bases, and 14"x14" just isn't there.

I wouldn't think it such an odd size.

So the only thing that is broken is the plastic knob? If so, just make a new one of wood, steel, or 3d print.

So, here's an example of a suspension seat knob for a Kubota. It should be easy enough to make also.

Or even buy one from McMaster Carr. They have a big selection of knobs.

How often do you change the setting?

Looking at just the suspension, the bolt pattern on the base plate is 4.5 x 8" (probably in centimeters) but this is the real measurement for what is needed at the bottom of the suspension or a whole seat. Replacing the handle may not be an option, because I cant figure out how to reset the spring tension to reinstall a new one? Thoughts and thanks to everyone helping!!!

Couldn't you just reset spring tension via trial & error? I dunno for sure but it seems like that is possible to me.

The only thing you have mentioned as being broken is the adjustment knob and/or the pin that secures it. Is something else broken? Have the springs detached?
Otherwise, why can't you put on a new knob of sorts, and tighten it down the rate of tension you desire?

Resetting 300lb springs and putting your fingers inside the suspension sounds like a great way to lose some fingers. I don’t have a setup to make this happen. Plus I would love to find a replacement instead of the $$$$$ Branson seat.

So the springs have become disconnected? If you loosen the adjusting bolt all the way, might you be able to reconnect the springs?
