This is probably a stupid question, but...... how do you unload a heavy implement from the truck? I do not have a front end loader.

<snip>
I HAVE actually used the hill by the house to load and unload from my pickup, but I had to put the pickup in the space between 2 trees and the mail box, and I do not believe that a larger truck would fit. I would have far more flexibility if I set the tractor up to lift any heavy objects, but that would probably be an activity for the future and not for this summer.

Might be onto an idea. Use a two step unloading process. Drag from the delivery truck lift gate onto your pickup. Then back the pickup up to your hill and drag your tiller off there. Of course, dimension matter in this option so if you can you can, ifyou can't you can't.

I think no matter what, select lift gate service. And don't let the driver be lazy, tell him to lower your tiller with the lift gate. Just get it on the ground. From there you can drag it off enough with some straps and whatever machine you have available.

Before my tractor, when I had my Cub Cadet GX54D delivered, the box truck lowered using the lift gate. Then my bf and the driver sorted wrestle-scooted it off onto the driveway. Good enough. It was down. The packaged weight was pretty heavy, close to what you're working with. So, it's doable, just be steady in your moves, don't rush. But lift gate to the ground level. Everything else after that is one step at a time.

I have a tractor and forks but usually I pay the extra $50 or whatever for lift gate. I live on a narrow winding road so they have to put it on a smaller truck to get to my house anyhow.
