My first GC2310 is 18 years old and my 1725 is almost 3 years old.
I've never needed to use the lights.
What kind of midnight rendezvous are you guys going on that requires that much lighting?
I don't know about Canada, but here in the US, it gets dark by as early as 5:00 pm in the winter. And the sun doesn't rise until as late as 7:40 am. 😁

Dave, what LED bulbs did you use? That might be a good starting point for me -- and yes, Racer4, the main issue is that the blower (and its chute, and the snow stream from it) really block most of the light from the headlights. I've taken to wearing a bright LED strap-on head light to help with that.

It's blowing snow early in the AM in the first part of winter (oh-dark-hundred) where it's really a problem; otherwise, I don't do much tractor work in the dark.

anything from mowing to snowblowing to tilling to moving trailers around house. etc.

Took the 1720 for a spin.
Ripped up 20 x 10 including big roots from dead Ash trees that no longer exist.
Piranha toothbar ripped right through those roots and took the grass and weed top right off.
Now it's manual tiller time, since I don't have one for the tractor.

What would have taken days to do with pickaxe and shovel, took less than an hour, including moving stuff around, moving out the lawn mower and putting back on the toothbar, which was off for the winter.

Since my last post 15 days and 5 pages ago we've had nothing but rain here. Finally I've been able to get back out and do something. Organized the shed so that I could get the mower out and on.

Took the tiller off, which I did not want to do, but after 14 days of rain there isn't any way I can till. If you step in the garden you leave a footprint that fills with water.

Got out the mower, sharpened the blades greased it up and got it on the tractor.

I may go out an mow tomorrow afternoon, but while the lawn is nearly a foot high in places, there are spots where I have over an inch of sitting water and I seriously doubt it will dry out. I do mow extremely high, highest notch (5) on the deck adjustment, but I still don't think I can get away with mowing and think i'll have to leave the areas with ponding go.

Thanks, Dave!

Took a look at mine --I've never had a burn-out-- and discovered the state-of-the-art (ca. 1950) pair of #1075 --really??-- bulbs in my headlights, yes, only two.

Have ordered some BA15D LED replacements for these bayonet-base antique bulbs and will see how they work. Thanks for the suggestion! (In the meantime, back to designing a light bar....)

Yes, the system with the two "fake" lights on the sides and only two 1075 bulbs in the center section.
