Yanmar YM2500
For future reference, I wanted to start a new thread on this.

I’ve searched all over and haven’t come up with much, but I know it’s out there somewhere.

What is the part number at O’Reilly
Autoparts for the alternator for a Yanmar YM2500 or a YM2610, that’s an identical plug and play match to the original Hitachi alternator? The original Yanmar part number is 124756-77200. The original Hitachi part number is LT115-52.
I’d like to know the Mitsubishi Japan part number if possible.

Please post pictures of the correct alternator.

Thanks,
Travis

Trying to figure out what the AL-1235 will cross over to at O’Reilly Autoparts, for a vehicle/automotive.

I cannot find the “Mitsubishi Japan” alternator that Bret posted a picture of in another thread. That’s the main one I’m looking for.

Here are pictures of the AL-1235 Alternator from Fredricks Equipment in Hartselle, Alabama. Their phone number is (256) 751-3555. www.FredricksEquipment.com
It fits the YM2500, YM2610, and many other models. It’s a 25 Amp alternator.

The YM2000 looked as though it just rolled off a boat. NKY!! My Parts list when I bought the YM2000, and Tach Hrs. now. I think 012. My notes 025 Oil/filter. Fredreick's parts, What I had to repair and add a Tiller.
Since then I Rebuilt the starter 72.00$ and reline the tires. I put a ghetto rig. on the starter. It lasted Yrs.. It was a good one apparently when the shop mentioned it. Literally nothing left of the Brushes Etc.. Still use it today!
And the Rear tires we knew about and when I had to reline them, Wasn't nothing to it honestly. Tire shop and full reline was like 175.00 over and done in a couple Hrs.. Front wheel bearing also. They Disintegrated Nothing left of the ;)

When I replaced the alternator on the YM2000 YM240, the alternator used on 72-73 Datsun was the perfect match. $29 in 2004.:) And the modern solid-state equivalent for its mechanical voltage regulator wasn't expensive, maybe $12.

Datsun went to something else a couple of years later but this alternator/regulator combination was very widely used in the 70's so every Autozone etc had them.

Note you want the 25 amp 'Datsun' alternator for 'no Air Conditioner'. The AC version (35 amps?) is much fatter and you would need a different adjustment strap.

Mine was the 35A unit and it fits perfectly. What strap is needed?

When I researched that long ago, the AC version alternator for 73 Datsun was larger diameter. I read somewhere that this wouldn't fit so I measured where it would go, and concluded it could be solid against the block and the existing adjustment strap still wouldn't reach out far enough.

It sounds like today's alternator has 35 amps in what used to be a 25 amp shell.

But unless you are night plowing or moving snow, I don't see a need for more amps. Especially with the LED bulbs used now. The original 15 amps is sufficient to just maintain the battery for starting - for daylight work.
