Starter spins and slowly activates the throw out gear, but never engages the fly wheel. Was operating fine for almost a year. Any help identifying the problem is appreciated.

I might be missing something but would a new starter not take care of that.?

Willy, thanks for sending. Mine doesn’t grind. It’s like the throw never reaches the flywheel. Wasn’t sure if battery or starter, but I believe I’ll need to rebuild or replace the starter. The part 2 from your attachment was very good also.
