Buying MX6000 Cab

Maybe I need a spend a little more on the grand? I am wondering if I will kick myself for not getting the HST+ and the lower fuel fill is really nice on the grands. Always a tough call.

You should really try out the HST+ if you haven't already. The hi/lol in 3 ranges is a great feature, as well as the other electronic transmission controls.

I haven't ever seen it myself so looked up the messicks video on HST+. Interesting stuff

I really want to, but he doesn't have any currently. I do have another dealer but he is about 1.5 hours away, but he does have a bunch of grands i could try. After watching that, it seems like a road trip is in order. You guys are going to be costing me more money :ROFLMAO:

Glad we could help :ROFLMAO:
Seriously my MX5200 is capable and the easiest tractor to operate I've owned.

I’ve purchased two Kubota’s in the last 8 years from the local dealer. In both cases he didn’t have it in stock but got it from not to distant other dealers. In the first instance he just put his dealer sticker over the first’s. 😆

Just like buying trucks. I went with a friend to pick up a new truck. WHile shooting the breeze I mentioned I would buy one if it was exactly what I wanted... He asked me what I wanted and wrote it all down. 2 weeks later he called me to come down and take a look. It was exactly as if I had ordered it. (y)

He has this unit on the lot, has had it about 6 months. Question is price, This is coming in at 60k plus tax. I am just wondering at this price point if this is a good unit vs going for the Grand L, my main thing is I need the lift Capacity for picking up trees.

Maybe I need a spend a little more on the grand? I am wondering if I will kick myself for not getting the HST+ and the lower fuel fill is really nice on the grands. Always a tough call.

Isn't the FEL lift capacity on the Grand L and the MX essentially the same?

So my dealer has me quoted out with the MX6000HSTC with 3 rear remotes, #2 is a float, third function up front, rim guard filled rears, LA1055 Loader with HD bucket L2296 which is pre drilled for cutting edge. R14's, Rear wiper, Rear Defrost, 130a Alt, Side mirrors, block heater but not the CCV heat option.

Items I would need to add is the drawbar for hitch, arm rests, radio, easy to do after the fact though.

The HST+ is really neat.

Get at least 2 rear remotes. You mentioned "snowblower" -- get the rear defrost and wiper. You need worklights front and rear but might find that you can add your own LED lights cheaper than the dealer option. Comfort stuff like armrests and side mirrors are no-brainers -- get them. HD alternator - yes.

I'm trying to understand the marketing model for the MX vs the Grand L tractors. As you point out, it seems like the MX will cost as much as a Grand L by the time you add all the comparable options. (And you still won't have the HST+ option.) Is the cab a lot nicer in the MX? What are the strong points of an MX6000 vs a Grand L6060??

Whatever you decide, just do it and don't look back. It'll never be any cheaper than it is today. (On the other hand, seems like hard times are likely for a while. A cash buyer might want to watch for a nice used unit.)

Good luck.

Edit: Forgot to mention . . . The 3rd function up front is a must-have so be sure to keep that on your list!

I have both an MX5800HST and an L6060HSTC. These are my thoughts:

The MX uses an LA1065 FEL and the Grand L an LA 1055. There is a difference but not much. I much prefer using the MX for earthwork due to it's larger tires and slightly stronger frame.

As I mentioned earlier, I considered an MX6000HSTC as a second tractor before getting the L6060HSTC but the MX with cab isn't compatible with my BH92 hoe. IMO, the cab on the MX isn't quite as fancy as the Grand L. If you log a lot of seat time, you'll appreciate an air ride seat as well as the added features of the Grand L.

I also looked at the MX5400HSTC, but decided the added HP of the 5800 would come in handy for the brush cutting I do.

I learned a long time ago that the more remotes you have, the better. This is especially true if you plan to get a T&T kit or even just a hydraulic top link. Yes, you can use cheaper diverter valves, but they can be tricky to operate from a cab.

If you plan to use a rear mount snowblower, The rear window defrost & wiper are a must! I also find them useful when grading muddy or dusty roads.

For the most part, Kubota tractors are good cold starters. If you keep the tractor inside a closed building, even an unheated one, a block heater may not be necessary. I keep mine inside an unheated barn and don't use block heaters. I have never had one fail to start, even on sub zero mornings.

Many choices, and a lot of decisions to make. Don't just buy for what you plan to do now. These tractors can last a long time so keep the future in mind as well.

Everyone has added some great info on this subject and I appreciate it.

I contacted my Third dealer who had a new 2023 L4760HSTC with no time on it and will sell at "invoice". So I get a qoute and all is looking good, then there are the fees, 7500 in fee's that no other dealer is charging. I like the 4760 with the HST+ and the lower level fuel fill and external rear lift arms. But with the same addons as the MX the L is still more by 7K. Assembly fee is 5400, Transport fee 1500, Kubota Finace filing fee of over 600. Is this normal and the other 2 dealers forgot to add to the invoice? I am not sure if a lower HP tractor is worth the extra money and is been sitting for 2 years. I understand dealer needs to make money, but these fees seem excessive. Am I wrong. I will contact them back after I hear what others have experienced.

Thanks everyone for all the guidance and help!
