Honestly, using a tractor has its learning curve. We all can't be experts right out of the gate.
I've had my share of butt clentching moments, but I learned, and those moments are very, very few and very, very far between now. Glad I learned on a HST.

Roll over protective structures (ROPS) as well as seat belts I have no issue with however I do with OPS (operator presence sensors) and I defeat them on all my equipment, which is easy to do with a paper clip, but then I don't operate any of my equipment like an idiot either.

That guy was lucky the tractor didn't come all the way over on him! However, without a ROPS, a seat belt isn't a good safety device!

Funny, I don't see any locals in my area using seatbelts, even the guys doing the excavation for my house way back when. After my first "oh ****" moment, and in retrospect, it wasn't all that, I started using the seatbelt.
I don't have a seat switch, or maybe previous owner disabled. I wouldn't want it anyway...
ROPS always up, unless I'm navigating around my apple trees.

The OPS sensor worked like a champ! A camera!!! Off he went!!

With a cab unit, you have NO choice as the ROPS is built into the cab structure.

Not overly fond of seatbelts either though I do use them. My open station Kubota M9 don't have a seat belt nor a seat OPS sensor either but I keep the foldable ROPS up all the time as my roof is attached to it. I actually removed the top section of the foldable ROPS on the F series diesel Kubota mower I have, simply because it limits me getting under tree limbs to mow. No OPS on it either. Considering removing the entire ROPS from it actually.
