Lost an hour to DST

10 seconds each to change 6 of my clocks and the rest are atomic clocks that change themselves.

So about 1 minutes worth of labor. Good thing I do it before going to bed so I can recuperate.

It's that day again. I haven't seen anybody complaining so I will bump up this three year old thread. 😁

There is talk about doing away with time changes. Who knows if anything will come from it.
I rather enjoy DST during the summer months. It’s nice to have daylight during those long evenings after work.

I just hope other states don't do what Arizona does and not observe DST. Whatever happens, it needs to be consistent across the entire US.

Anyone who travels in Arizona knows what I'm talking about.
I work in both AZ and NM and meeting times are always a trick to schedule. To make matters more confusing, the northeast quarter of AZ is Navajo Reservation and they go on DST while the rest of the state doesn’t.

I hope they don't do away with DST, or worse, make it permanent. The time change does not bother me and I like it being light enough to do stuff outside by a reasonable time in the winter. Not getting light for another hour in the morning in winter, or getting light an hour earlier in summer would both suck.

There's a reason why many countries, especially those with land nearer the poles, do DST. It doesn't matter so much in the tropics where the difference between winter and summer daylight is not so large.
Simple science that most policy makers seem to not understand.^^^ (y)

Guaranteed overtime twice a year… lots of clicks to change in a hospital when all the machines/devices with clocks included.

If you drive from Phoenix to Page AZ, the time changes 5 times as you drive in and out of the Navajo reservation.

Page AZ, which doesn't observe DST, is almost completely surrounded by the reservation which does. Ask anyone there what time it is and most will say they don't know!

The last time I was there, I went into a fast food joint on the edge of town. There were two clocks on the wall, one was set to DST the other to ST and a sign over them read "Take your pick".

If individual states decide to stay on ST year round, this chaos will spread nationwide.

And NOT having sunlight streaming in my bedroom window at 4:30 AM in June. I'm a morning person, but still...

Its such a hardship losing an hour ;) in the morning, but gaining an hour in the afternoon certainly makes up for it. :D

The only clocks here that don't auto change are the stove and the 2003 Suburban.

I say keep doing it the way they are doing it now. Spring forward and fall back. I like it this way.
