10 dead in New Orleans

Waking up to terrible news this morning. Apparently, a truck plowed through a crowd on Bourbon Street around 3 am this morning.

I live about 2 hours from New Orleans, and I really don't want to visit there anymore. It's a fun, beautiful place to visit, but it is now also very dangerous.

And, with the Sugar Bowl there today, this is really bad for the tourist industry in New Orleans.

I'm sickened by the news I read this am about the attack on Americans as they celebrate the New Year.

At least 10 people are dead and 35 left injured after an SUV plowed into a large group near the intersection of Bourbon Street and Canal Street in the New Orleans French Quarter early this morning.

Unfortunately. We can't stop evil. Pretty sad but it is what it is.

I'm sure they will call for more gun control.

Prayers and thoughts out to everyone involved. Sad shame this is what our society has come down to

Folks cross the border daily for various reasons, I understand that but close that border. Open borders suck

The FBI is supposed to make a statement at about 1 PM CST today. I suppose that now there will be calls to ban pick-up trucks.

The suspect driving the car in New Orleans has been identified as Shamsud Din Jabbar, two federal officials told CBS News.
