Chryslers grandson wants to save the brand

Ok, so, not being an engineer, but can't they stuff that abomination of the 3.0TT into a charger/challenger?
I read it’s only slated for STLA and STLA large frame vehicles. Besides, being a vertical inline engine with what looks to be, another foot, of junk over and around the cylinder head, it’s probably too tall for the charger hood line

??? We must be talking about different cars. You're aware these came in 500, 700, and 850 hp variants? Not exactly what I'd call "efficient", or "cool enough that you don't feel the need to make excuses".

These were the coolest North American (NAFTA) 4- and 5-seater coupes and sedans on the road, while they were being made. Period.
So, the whole line, from an SXT to a Demon, and everything between. Yes, dodge sold a Lot of the R/T, Hellcats, ect, but often a super car version is just a money loosing trim to sell the lower end ones. Think TRX; I'm sure that was a money loosing venture, BUT, the TRX sold a ton of basic ram 1500/2500s. Same story as Raptors, or whatever. Explorer, has a 400 HP version, but I'm guessing that is primarily going to be a low volume sales, in attempt to prop up the 2.3L or whatever, base trim. "Heavy duty" trucks are often the same story, yes, on specific set up is rated for 30,000 towing, but 90% of the one ton duallies sold are actually a good bit lower, but Ford (or GM or Ram), can have a commercial saying "class leading 30,000 lbs towing" with fine print that reads (when properly equipped, towing varies based on spec"

But I do stand by a 5.7L R/T is a fairly cool, efficient car, that you can drive to work at a coal mine, or a construction job, and not feel embarrassed by. Even the SXT isn't a dog. Sure cooler than a RAV4, or a Camry.

Yeah, but if we are pulling for Mopar, they may have a base 3.0TT block, that moves some of the accessory crap around, and/or uses different or more compact accessories, and they might be able to shoe-horn it in. Heck, aren't there guys with 7.3L Godzilla mustangs?

It's kinda the medium soda marketing approach. No fast food place wants to sell a medium soda, and the price is inflated to make the large for $0.50 more seem like a bargain. Pretty sure 89 gas is the same story, everyone buys 87 or 91, but 89 is there for people to go, hmm, it's only $0.15 to go to 91, I'll just buy that.

Mustangs, most mustangs were V6 turds, but the 302 is what made people think of a Mustang as a "sports car", and without knowing true numbers, I'll bet they sold a ton of that underpowered V6 to folks to look cool. Camaros too back in the day; not sure if it was a 3.8L or a 4.3L, and then some 305ci, but the 350s is what got the lower end ones to sell.

Gotta say, it's pretty embarrassing to be embarrassed by what car you drive!

I get that, but perceived "coolness" of a vehicle is a Huge part of what sells. You can get more money for a pristine used vehicle, missing the engine, than a perfectly functional vehicle that looks like he'll. Yes, a vehicle is a tool, but you don't want to pull up in a 1993 Saturn Station wagon to a welding job. If strictly function is all that matters, lot of people would have an electric scooter...

"It meant a great deal to us," he said in a message. "We have a ton of opportunities to fix what Mr. Tavares harmed."

Dang. That leaves no room for soft interpretation 😳

I mean i dont know what he harmed. Fiat Automobiles didnt run well under the previous boss either...
I never like seeing a manufacturing company having troubles but I think Stellantis is waking up in panic mode.
