??? We must be talking about different cars. You're aware these came in 500, 700, and 850 hp variants? Not exactly what I'd call "efficient", or "cool enough that you don't feel the need to make excuses".
These were the coolest North American (NAFTA) 4- and 5-seater coupes and sedans on the road, while they were being made. Period.
So, the whole line, from an SXT to a Demon, and everything between. Yes, dodge sold a Lot of the R/T, Hellcats, ect, but often a super car version is just a money loosing trim to sell the lower end ones. Think TRX; I'm sure that was a money loosing venture, BUT, the TRX sold a ton of basic ram 1500/2500s. Same story as Raptors, or whatever. Explorer, has a 400 HP version, but I'm guessing that is primarily going to be a low volume sales, in attempt to prop up the 2.3L or whatever, base trim. "Heavy duty" trucks are often the same story, yes, on specific set up is rated for 30,000 towing, but 90% of the one ton duallies sold are actually a good bit lower, but Ford (or GM or Ram), can have a commercial saying "class leading 30,000 lbs towing" with fine print that reads (when properly equipped, towing varies based on spec"
But I do stand by a 5.7L R/T is a fairly cool, efficient car, that you can drive to work at a coal mine, or a construction job, and not feel embarrassed by. Even the SXT isn't a dog. Sure cooler than a RAV4, or a Camry.
