I don't think you're a dumb person, but I do feel that you're trying to dumb yourself down appearance wise on here just to quote me. You really don't know? You know what a Raptor is, a TRX? IDK this is just common modern truck guy knowledge I guess.

Don’t be so snarky. The winch sits inside the bumper, not in the engine compartment

Well then tell that to Dodge, homey. WTF do you want me to tell you? Do I think that the Dodge employees are correct in saying that the Cummins won't house with the winch? Yes. Do I think that the winch is so important to the Power Wagon to not delete it if they really wanted to offer the Cummins in the Power Wagon? No. Do I think the Power Wagon would be as capable O/R with a Cummins? No, I do not.

I drive trucks with Cummins off road on a regular basis, and many of the loggers I work with have them too. Those of us who work off road every day seem to have no trouble with them, just the weekend warriors do.

Why? You're just adding 800-900 lbs to an O/R focused truck. The only time I want a diesel is for towing. Nothing else, especially when talking modern day diesels with emissions.

You’d be in a minority there, because a lot of guys buy diesels and never work them-even though it’s a waste.

If I'm wanting good MPG's and don't mind sacrificing performance GM's 3L is a viable option. Sometimes I do need them, and barrow one, and their great for their intended purpose, but again if it's not a tow pig then I have no need for a diesel. I'm especially not a fan of a diesel in a 3/4 ton as it eats up a lot of the trucks payload rating, and puts them in the 1/2 ton payload range.
Yeah, no. I 3/4 ton has more than 800lbs payload than a 1/2 ton.

IMO a 1 ton diesel makes much more sense than a 3/4 ton diesel. Plus I6's suck for packaging. Dodge claims no Cummins due to the winch. Do I believe them? IDK, is the winch that important? Maybe a Cummins option could delete it? I do believe them that the Cummins won't fit with the winch.
Then they should make a 1 ton Cummins Power Wagon. That’s as easy as spring packs frame & axles.
Ford did it with the Powerstroke. So why not Ram? Everyone on the Ram forums wants one.

Winch doesn’t have to be in the engine compartment.
Mine isn’t homey. Its much better in a winch bumper anyway. Mine protects the winch more than the factory chrome & plastic.

No doubt gas is better for off-road, but ot doesnt mean a diesel 4x4 1 ton with a winch doesnt have a niche for farmers & ranchers….you know, people who actually need & use trucks?

For one Ford's better than Dodge. Two, IDGAF, tell that to the people calling the shots at Fiat. Three, you still have almost a half a ton extra over your front axle. Different springs and shocks to compensate for added weight only go so far, and performance will suffer with that weight increase. Four, there's the aftermarket. Five, don't speak on my wife again, before quickly editing your post, or you can post up your ole lady, and I'll be more than happy to return the favor. Yeah, I'm real good at this. You remember that post to virginbilly that you were so impressed with? That was easy.

Are you really dumb enough to think that in 2024 an OEM can legally put an external winch on the bumper of a full-size truck from the factory? I mean are you this ignorant, or are you just speaking from emotions on what you wish they would do? Grow up, and use logic to determine why OEM's don't mount external winches and get over your emotional BS. The government and EPA will not allow that to happen, homey.

FIAT? lol that was 5+ years ago. Get with the times
Hey it was a compliment. I thought she looked good. I powerlift and appreciate people who look strong.
But I knew it wasn’t the place to say your wife/GF had nice arms, so I took it down. Sorry you’re offended by the compliment.

Tell you another thing diesels are nice for, jumping dead farm tractor batteries.

No, I don't think that's it. Saying someones wife must be a powerlifter because she has nice guns is not a compliment. That would be like if you posted your wife, (which I was just trying to show the truck, and my wife was just in the background) and she has big boobs, and I say something like, "man your wife has some tig ole bitties. She must be rock that silicone." Do you see what I'm saying? My wife's a little heavyset, so her arms are bigger than someone who isn't. I'm not into masculine, bodybuilding women. That's not my thing.

There's my wife. She's a little bit on the heavy side. She's not a powerlifter.

Which has nothing to do with it. Thats your opinion. I just got out of Fords because they didnt hold up to real truck usage over the last 20 years. Ram has been much better.
Two, IDGAF, tell that to the people calling the shots at Fiat.

Ram Hasn’t been FIAT since 2020.
Three, you still have almost a half a ton extra over your front axle. Different springs and shocks to compensate for added weight only go so far, and performance will suffer with that weight increase.
Performance won’t suffer when a diesel puts out 2X as much torque. Performance (depends on your definition of performance) is in the eyes of the beholder. My idea of performance is towing, engine longevity and fuel economy.

That diesel torque comes in awfully handy in steep off-road situations, like pulling out of steep drainages and hillsides. As long as you have the rubber with enough traction to handle the torque. They work well for people who deal with those conditions regularly, and not just farmers and ranchers.
