47 to 67.

Mostly, so sorry you lost it. Hope an honest person finds and calls you.

Sodamo, awesome looking truck. The only tip/secret I have is not so secret... I usually do a slow take off from a stop...I always get 2 to 3 mpg better than the EPA window sticker...but yours is a newer model and different engine/tranny. Enjoy!

Phil, I showed my wife some of your beautiful wood work/art and she was blown away.

A little tractor time, bringing in a load of firewood, and then cleaning out the ash pit, finally...had a whole FEL bucket full.

David, beautiful truck , best of luck with it ! When I saw the green plate in front I thought that looks similar to my Vermont plates on my truck ! 😉

Good evening all. Lost wallet, got credit cards stopped more later
Mostly, hoping for a good conclusion to your lost wallet , that truly is a pain ! As Thomas stated, hopefully an honest person finds it ! 🙏

Phil beautiful work you have shown us today ! Hopefully that fire doesn’t get close to you ! 🙏

45 outside right now, heading to mid 60's. Someone said rain later on this evening. We shall see. Getting ready for another road trip to daughters in a few.

Came home from checking on a real job yesterday and wife was mowing a back pasture area we have let go. Guess tractor time sooths all stress related issues for all. Not sure I want more to maintain, but oh well. She did a nice job. Finished it all on her own.

Nice truck, David.
Hope wallet shows up, Mostly.
As always, Phil, beautiful work.

Hope all enjoy the day, be safe. The holidays are creeping nearer, slow down time...lol.

Good morning, the low is 38 and only going to a high of 43°F. Wine E 12 gusting to 18 mph. Cloudy.

The snow is coming, it's in Manitoba now. Probably stay to the north and we might get some rain out of it.

The Postal strike is starting its' second day.

I have heard rumblings that us on CPP will be getting a second check this month. (Trudeau trying to buy votes)
I'll believe it when I see it.

Drew $135.oo/4 spark plugs?? Are the made of gold?

Time to order oil for the big tank. I will let you know the price after I get it.

Have a safe day all

Morning all, 43 going up to 61 and cloudy. Dry

Did not get much done yesterday, too dark by time day job ended.

Nice truck David, many happy years with it.

Phil , great to hear items are selling, bet they make a lot of people happy.

Mostly - hope you get the wallet back, always a pain to replace everything.

Fixed my sodastream, seems the pressure hose wrapped around one of the set screws. Bad design.

Be well,

good morning, 49 going to 61

Picking up groceries and clean up in the shop

A couple of big dogs jumped Cody while walking and push me off balance. Scraped the knee but otherwise OK

I was up in night, so slept in. Still having sinus headache.

There is winter storm watch for western MD Thursday.

Drew mentioned to me the Great Crossing bridge (aka somerfield bridge) is again exposed across the youghiogheny river on the old national road. I stopped to see it a few weeks back (Oct 12) before it was totally exposed as the lake is way down from the drought in western MD. They have now banned people from walking across it, for fear it might fall.

IMG_8278.jpeg

Was started in 1815 and dedicated 4 July 1818 by President James Monroe.
The national road follows the route that 22 year old George Washington took in 1753 to fort Lebeau to tell the French to get out. In July 1754 George took troops, widening an Indian trail into a road, and engaged in his first battle just west of here, starting the French and Indian war, and building fort necessity on their withdrawal, and subsequent surrender.
In 1755 George went thru here against with General Braddock to their defeat with the French at fort Duquesne. (Danial Boone was a wagon master on that trip, Benjamin Franklin helped secure wagons for the trip). General Braddock was wounded, and died on their retreat, and is buried near fort necessity.
The route was used again by the British in 1758 when fort Duquesne was taken by the British, and reconstructed as fort Pitt. (Pittsburgh)

The national road (Braddock road) the first road built by federal government was built on
This route 1811-1837.
This opened up a route to Ohio, that my 5great grandfather took in early 1820’s.

Very nice Happy Hour at our Mexican cafe.

Prayers for all
Be safe

great history Buckeye

called rv place, when can I pick up my rv
it's finished
well, that's nice
so this afternoon hitching a ride with a friend to drop me off in Souderton to pick it up.

turns out chirping whistling sound was not a vacuum leak but a loose belt
and marginal pulley so he replaced both and now no noise..
And replaced my ten Motorcraft spark plugs at 4 bucks a piece.
(not made out of gold on this one Bill)
said he checked codes and none active.

oil change, chassis lube, put new electric step on, since he said old one
was severely crushed.

I still have my bathroom leak to deal with. Not sure best way to handle that since I want a better job
than I know how to do, or able to do. If I go to dealership, might as well take a case of vaseline with me...
they are averse to any repair bills under a grand.
I need new pex lines six feet. But of course getting to them is a treat and involves removing toilet and maybe even the
cabinet in there. And the cabinet is made out of crappy wood and would likely disintegrate.

rain is supposed to start tomorrow afternoon and rain for several days. Boy do we need it.
might have a little snow in it, what Maryland will likely get more of.
I started up the Ariens snowblower yesterday after charging that silly 9.2V battery which runs the EFI.
started up immediately after six months.
gas is heavily treated but has been in there for two years.
I really need to drain it and burn it in the rv.

replace a 40 year old army filling.

David, make sure they don't give you a Navy one...;)

made an appt for Thursday to see a sales rep about pricing a new diesel Tahoe. In order to get the air bag suspension/electronic suspension I want to reduce head toss on my neck, plus the supercruise, bet they quote something starting with an 8. No way Jose.
alternative is to put new Koni FSD shocks on my existing car, try to make it more comfortable. It's a pretty bouncy ride on these country roads.
The Tahoe would ride much smoother. I rode in a base model Tahoe in NC and immediately knew it was quieter and smoother than my car.
What the volvo has are awesome seats and so far reliability from a local honest dealer. Not going to give that up easily. But I really want to migrate to a truck and rv trailer from my motorhome. Have a friend's son who is interested in the Volvo since I will get some truly low number from the dealer who will only wholesale it out.

But I bet that dealership still isn't hungry enough to discount five grand off on an ordered vehicle.

55°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 67° today. Last warm one for awhile, 40s and 50s for the rest of the week.

Bummer about your wallet, Mostly_. Hope you can get it resolved with little or no pain.

Nice-looking truck, David. Congrats.

Good morning, gents.

Good evening all. Lost wallet, got credit cards stopped more later
One son has done that several times in the last few years. He's gotten really good at stopping the cards and getting replacement licenses etc.
The good thing is he tends to clean up his "areas" when looking for things.
I've been tempted to misplace it further do he cleans up more.

Still haven't ordered the oil. I want guaranteed carved in stone WINTER home heating oil. Commonly called winter colored diesel. That is what my furnace has been burning since I bought it in 1995. The Kioti, too since 2012. The refinery usually switches over to winter grade in November, and the supplier probably still has summer grade oil in his tanks. So I will wait until probably the first week of December to order.

Thanks guys, more excited than I anticipated. Going to count as birthday present, Christmas, etc for a stretch. 🤙

Can’t imagine replacing whole wallet, just a bank replaced credit card suspected of fraud is a PITA. My friend John lost his wallet a few weeks ago, on his property somewhere. They were scheduled to fly out that afternoon for trip to Japan. A mad scramble to get his military id (flying Space A) and Drivers license replaced, but did it.

Drew, that vehicle would be even more over here. When I was researching, using my own Zip code would take me to Hawaii pricing. Inventory is major control factor here as well. This Tundra is most expensive vehicle of my life, but my evolving financial perspective (subject to a new thread), came to acceptance.

Finalizing the Tundra purchase was interesting, easy, almost enjoyable. A couple minutes late to appointment as got a call from our financial planner enroute. He’s in Va so that took priority. First thing salesperson does is present the paper copy of the handwritten quote she had txted me to initial. Per usual, Sophie had detoured to the ladies room. I excused myself from table to retrieve a bank form. When I returned, there was Sophie standing at next table talking with Dealership owner, whom we actually knew more from military association than car business. Naturally I joined in and nice chat for about 15 minutes. Probably enough time to be noticed. Deja vu, 12 years ago when walking in to finalize purchase of my previous Tundra, Sophie walked into showroom just as Dave was about to exit, hence a well observed encounter. Enough so we both commented on perceived attitude shift later. Anyway, time for the dreaded meet the finance guy. WOW, his desk was a giant touchscreen. He started with the usual upsell. I said sure, add anything you like as long as bottomline doesn’t change. No problem, just initial here that you decline. Less than 5 minutes totally done except some chitchat. Rest of time was salesperson walking through stuff and setting up phone etc. all in all a pleasurable experience.

Phil, always in awe of your talents.

Good Afternoon,
Just noticed my electric bill, on a per kwh basis, has gone up 25% in the last 2 years.
Dennis, I hope your local not like our Connecticut location ! Here we are paying for the people who can’t pay or won’t pay , on a separate line item on our electricity bill ! 😳 You can’t make this stuff up ! 😉😀

We have that to an extent, they have this energy program ran by the state, that is funded by taking money from us. sometimes $10-20 a month gets stolen from us.

Good (Wednesday) morning. Overnight Low of 6.1C and it's presently 16.2C, lightly overcast & calm.

A goodly amount of wood was stacked yesterday and I'll continue this arvo. Weather is conducive to stacking and shouldn't be wasted.

It's 'into town' day for groceries and I'll top up the petrol in the ute.

That's about it, take care all.
